The Golden State is run by unhinged Leftists. But their latest ruling will surprise you.
And California hits Trump with a stunning election ruling.
Democrats in states across the country are working hard to ban former President Donald Trump from their state’s presidential ballot.
Colorado’s Supreme Court was the first to rule that Trump was disqualified from the state’s ballot after citing the Fourteenth Amendment as the reasoning.
Maine followed suite, with Secretary of State Shenna Bellows ruling that Trump’s alleged participation in an insurrection on January 6, 2021, disqualified him from the ballot as cited under the Insurrection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
But California shocked everyone when their Secretary of State Shirley Weber ruled that Trump would indeed appear on the state’s ballot.
This comes at a time when Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis called for the former president’s removal.
The certification of Trump’s name on the ballot by Weber, came last Thursday night, only hours after Maine made their decision.
The Trump campaign is hoping that the U.S. Supreme Court will make a final decision on this issue that will allow for him to remain eligible despite certain state’s attempts to remove him.
As it stands now, other states like Oregon, are working to lobby election officials to make similar moves like Colorado and Maine did.
Minnesota and Michigan made efforts to remove Trump’s name from primary ballots, but were unsuccessful in doing so.
There are quite a few polls that show Donald Trump outperforming President Joe Biden in a potential head-to-head matchup in the 2024 general election.
Polls also show Trump beating out the president in crucial swing states such as Arizona and Pennsylvania.
This of course has Democrats on edge who could not bear another four years of Trump in the Oval Office.
That’s why there are increased efforts to try and disqualify Trump before he’s even able to take on Biden in November.
There are Democrats however, who have criticized, specifically, Colorado’s ruling to ban Trump from the ballot.
Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) who is also running for president, posted on X that he believes it’s wrong to make the former president ineligible without any sort of conviction.
“Do I believe it’s wrong to ban him from the ballot in Colorado without a conviction? Absolutely,” Phillips’ post said.
And now that a dark blue state like California has deemed Trump eligible for the state’s ballot, there is certainly hope that more state officials will do the right thing and let voters have the option to cast their vote for Donald Trump in 2024.
