The Republican Party is filled with rats. Some would rather play nice with Democrats than stand up for our country.

And now a RINO ringleader unleashed this disgusting attack on Donald Trump.

Sen. Mitt Romney slammed President Donald Trump after the bipartisan border compromise collapsed on Thursday, claiming it was part of the former president’s campaign strategy.

In an interview with CNN’s Manu Raju, Mitt Romney accused President Trump of “really appalling” political calculus in undermining the Senate’s bipartisan border negotiations.

“I think the border is a very important issue for Donald Trump,” said Utah Republican Mitt Romney, the GOP’s 2012 presidential nominee.

“The fact that he would communicate to Republican senators and congresspeople that he doesn’t want us to solve the border problem because he wants to blame Biden for it is really appalling.”

“But the reality is that we have a crisis at the border, the American people are suffering as a result of what’s happening at the border, and someone running for president ought to try to get the problem solved as opposed to saying, ‘Hey, save that problem. Don’t solve it. Let me take credit for solving it later,” he said.

Mr. Romney has long been a vocal Republican critic of Trump.

These latest accusations come amid growing Senate Republican misgivings about the plan, which House Republicans have long rejected as being too weak and falling well short of what they think is required to end the historic border crisis.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, sparked the finger-pointing when he stated an agreement was in doubt.

In a private discussion, he informed GOP colleagues that “politics have changed,” according to Punchbowl News.

The border discussions had become the centerpiece of the $110 billion national security spending proposal.

Many Republicans argued they couldn’t justify to their supporters giving Ukraine more than $60 billion in help to defend its border against Russia while doing little to address the mess at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The proposed agreement would have tightened asylum-seeking standards and allowed for new expulsion powers if the number of illegal immigrants exceeded 5,000 per day.

President Biden, meantime, hoped to provide work permits to unlawful migrants as soon as they were apprehended and freed. He also intended to increase legal immigration.

House Republicans, on the other hand, sought a more enforcement-focused plan that included border wall construction and a stop to the administration’s widespread use of “parole” to facilitate catch-and-release.

They said that the Senate agreement would do nothing to stem the flow of migrants and left too much discretion in the hands of an administration they do not trust to enforce the laws.

Mr. Trump, who is on his way to capturing the Republican presidential nomination, encouraged Republicans to reject any compromise that did not address the border.

Mr. Trump cautioned Republicans last week on Truth Social not to agree to any border compromise “unless we get EVERYTHING needed to shut down the INVASION of Millions & Millions of people.”
