Republicans are in a state of shock. Their party is experiencing all sorts of turmoil before the 2024 election.

And the GOP is in panic mode after a prominent member calls it quits after a primary race.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is in a tough spot right now.

Many Republicans have called out the RNC’s leadership for poor performances by the GOP in the last few elections.

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has even publicly called for the removal of RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

And it looks like Ramaswamy is going to get his wish, because McDaniel has reportedly announced to former President Donald Trump that she will indeed be stepping down.

McDaniel said she intends to officially step down after the South Carolina primary takes place later on this month.

Michael Whatley, the current chairman of the Republican Party in North Carolina, is expected to be McDaniel’s replacement according to what multiple sources have told the New York Times.

Those sources also added that Trump would be in favor of Whatley because they both share the same view that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

“Ms. McDaniel and Mr. Trump met at Mar-a-Lago on Monday. He posted on his social media website, Truth Social, shortly after their meeting, all but declaring that changes are coming,” the New York Times reported.

“In the post, he described her as ‘my friend’ and said she was ‘now Head of the RNC, and I’ll be making a decision the day after the South Carolina Primary as to my recommendations for RNC Growth.'”

“Ms. McDaniel had been considering leaving before the end of her term for some time, according to multiple people familiar with the matter,” the NYT continued.

“And despite animosity toward Ms. McDaniel from some of Mr. Trump’s closest allies, he has been uncharacteristically gentle as he has begun to acknowledge her imminent departure in public comments.”

This announcement about McDaniel possibly stepping down, comes in the wake of Trump making comments about her job performance on Fox News recently.

“I think she did OK, initially, in the RNC. I would say right now, there’ll probably be some changes made,” the former president said on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.

The RNC has struggled recently with fundraising.

The Democrats on the other hand have been able to rake in cash at a much better rate.

This fact and the fact that Republicans have consistently underperformed in crucial elections is likely why changes to RNC leadership are happening.

It’s now important that the Republican National Committee gets all its ducks in a row so they’re organized and ready to defeat the Left this November.
