The world of politics is always hectic. But this was the last thing anyone expected.
And a presidential death just rocked America to its core.
The president and foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran are believed to have died in a helicopter crash on Sunday while flying through eastern Iran.
The chopper carrying President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian crashed in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province due to exceptionally heavy fog.
Early on Monday, reports surfaced that the crash site had been located and that rescuers had found “no signs of life”.

According to an authority, President Raisi’s chopper was entirely destroyed in the crash. Unfortunately, all passengers are presumed deceased.
Raisi was a hardliner who oversaw the execution of hundreds of political prisoners in 1988, following Ayatollah Khomeini’s fatwa.
There have been persistent suspicions in Iran that Raisi rose to power through a rigged election.
Abdollahian was also a hardliner with deep ties to many Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO), including Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and the Palestinian factions Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).
Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi stated on state television that they were “on their way back aboard some helicopters, and one of the helicopters was forced to make a hard landing due to the bad weather and fog.”
He stated that the rescue workers had a tough time locating and reaching the crash scene due to the weather, the rocky terrain in the area, and the lack of lighting.
The officials were returning from a trip to Azerbaijan early Sunday, where they had attended the inauguration of a new dam on the Aras River with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Today, after bidding a friendly farewell to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, we were profoundly troubled by the news of a helicopter carrying the top delegation crash-landing in Iran,” stated Aliyev.
“Our prayers to Allah Almighty are with President Ebrahim Raisi and the accompanying delegation. As a neighbor, friend, and brotherly country, the Republic of Azerbaijan stands ready to offer any assistance needed.”
This comes hot on the heels of news that both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leader of Hamas have been issued arrest warrants by the International Criminal Court.
Iran has been integral in funding the Hamas terror efforts in the Gaza strip for decades.
And Israel has made clear they are willing to go to extreme measures to stop their state-funded terrorism.
While it doesn’t look like the events are connected, it is a very interesting coincidence.
