Pelosi has lost a lot of her luster. Now it may be over for the aging Democrat.
And Nancy Pelosi shocked the nation with one unexpected statement.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is at it again, drawing outrageous comparisons that reveal just how out of touch she’s become.
In a shocking display of hyperbole, Pelosi likened the so-called “threat” of former President Trump to some of America’s most existential wars, just over a month after an assassination attempt on Trump himself.
Appearing on MSNBC during the Democratic National Convention’s final day, Pelosi didn’t hold back. She suggested that Trump poses a danger to democracy akin to the British during the American Revolution.
“The times have found us,” Pelosi declared to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, absurdly equating today’s political climate with the stakes of 1776 and the Civil War.
She went on to say, “We have to defeat a person who is a threat to our democracy of the kind that we have not seen – At the beginning of our country, Thomas Paine said that times have found us. Declare war, establish a new nation.”
It’s clear Pelosi is willing to stretch any historical reference to fit her narrative.
Pelosi didn’t stop there, doubling down on her inflammatory rhetoric by dragging Abraham Lincoln into her tirade.
“Abraham Lincoln took up that charge to keep our country together years later – decades later, and now the times have found us to save our democracy,” she claimed, as if Trump represents a danger on par with the Civil War.
“That is what we are here to do,” she added, continuing her overblown comparison.
What’s most appalling is Pelosi’s timing. Her dark and divisive portrayal of Trump came just over a month after President Biden himself called for a cooling of political rhetoric following the attempted assassination of Trump.
On the night of the Trump shooting, Biden had addressed the nation, urging Americans to “lower the temperature in our politics” and reminding us that “we are not enemies.”
Yet here is Pelosi, fanning the flames with her reckless comments. It’s no wonder X users (formerly Twitter) were quick to condemn her.
Conservative digital strategist Greg Price shared a clip of Pelosi’s words, sarcastically pointing out, “Pelosi says that defeating President Trump is the equivalent of defeating the British and the Confederacy because he’s a ‘threat to democracy of a kind we have not seen.’ Only been a little over a month since the guy was nearly assassinated BTW.”

PR specialist Chris Barron chimed in, asking the obvious question: “Remind me again which side is threatening political violence?” Conservative columnist Eddie Zipper didn’t hold back either, replying, “Says the woman who overruled every Dem primary election.”

Pro-Trump commentator Collin Rugg echoed the sentiment, adding, “Says the woman who staged a coup on the democratically nominated candidate.” And columnist Miranda Devine summed it up simply: “Bad woman.”
Pelosi’s outrageous remarks only serve to highlight her disconnect from reality and her willingness to stoke division at a time when the country needs unity.
