And the FBI is in panic mode after foiling a plot to attack this major U.S. city.

18-Year-Old Charged with Plotting Terrorist Attack Against Israeli Consulate in New York

An Egyptian student studying at George Mason University has been arrested in Falls Church, Virginia, for allegedly planning a terrorist attack on Israel’s consulate in New York City.

Abdullah Ezzeldin Taha Mohamed Hassan, 18, faces federal charges for attempting to instruct someone on building explosives with the intent to harm internationally protected individuals. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors have indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation unfolds.

Hassan, who is also facing deportation proceedings, is expected to have his removal delayed if he serves time in prison following a conviction.

Authorities claim that Hassan used multiple social media platforms to spread propaganda supporting ISIS and Al Qaeda.

His content allegedly encouraged violence against Jews, and he openly praised Osama bin Laden as his “idol.”

He also expressed a desire for ISIS attacks at public events, stating he was “praying for an ISIS” strike.

The FBI had interviewed Hassan in 2022 about spreading ISIS propaganda online and discovered that he knew how to obscure his digital activity to avoid detection.

Allegedly, Hassan also tried to recruit an undercover informant to join ISIS and carry out terrorist acts in the U.S.

Potential attack methods reportedly included a mass shooting, the use of a su*cide vest, or a bomb concealed in a backpack. Hassan allegedly sent a video produced by ISIS that provided detailed instructions for creating explosives.

“In it, a masked male in military-style clothing explains the process to make acetone peroxide, an explosive,” the court documents state.

“Throughout the video, an ISIS flag logo appears in the upper corner. The video is approximately fifteen minutes long and includes English subtitles.”

The video reportedly demonstrated how to assemble a detonator and a primary explosive device, complete with shrapnel made from ball bearings. “After assembly, the speaker says, ‘we now have a ready bomb,’” the documents detail.

Hassan’s alleged target was Israel’s consulate in New York City.

He referred to the location as a “goldmine of targets” and used the term “Yahud,” the Arabic word for Jews, to describe those he intended to attack.

The investigation into Hassan’s activities remains ongoing, with authorities stressing the gravity of the threat posed by his alleged plans.
