It’s no secret that the DOJ has unfairly targeted Trump. They’ve been trying to destroy him for years now.
And Joe Biden’s Department of Justice was caught doing this one thing to Donald Trump that’ll leave you utterly speechless.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) released a damning report on Monday, revealing that three senior DOJ officials allegedly leaked sensitive information to the media in a bid to damage Donald Trump’s prospects before the 2024 presidential election. The report raises serious questions about political neutrality within the DOJ and the potential misuse of its powers.
According to the report, the three senior officials are under investigation for possible violations of the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from engaging in political activities while performing their official duties.
DOJ policy also strictly forbids employees from disclosing information related to ongoing investigations.
However, the report alleges that at least one of the officials used DOJ social media accounts to amplify the leaked information by sharing links to the resulting news articles.
The investigation summary states: “The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) initiated an investigation after receiving allegations that actions by a litigating division were politically motivated and violated DOJ policies regarding disclosing information about ongoing matters.”
Further, the report explains: “The OIG investigation found that three then Senior DOJ Officials violated DOJ’s Confidentiality and Media Contacts Policy by leaking to select reporters, days before an election, non-public DOJ investigative information regarding ongoing DOJ investigative matters, resulting in the publication of two news articles that included the non-public DOJ investigative information. The OIG investigation also found that one of these three then Senior DOJ Officials violated the Confidentiality and Media Contacts Policy and DOJ’s Social Media Policy by reposting through a DOJ social media account links to the news articles.”
Finally, the report concludes that, “The OIG also provided its report to the US Office of Special Counsel, which has exclusive jurisdiction to investigate alleged Hatch Act violations, for its consideration of whether the conduct of these officials violated the Hatch Act.”
The Inspector General’s office refrained from identifying the leaked information, the publications involved, or the officials implicated in the breaches. However, the report sparked renewed scrutiny of the DOJ’s impartiality, particularly in politically charged investigations.
The Role of the Media and Previous Allegations
This isn’t the first time allegations of political interference have emerged. Senator Chuck Grassley criticized the DOJ in August after The Washington Post published a report claiming that Trump was being investigated for allegedly collecting $10 million from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during the 2016 presidential election.
That investigation, initiated by former FBI Director Robert Mueller, was reportedly dropped due to insufficient evidence. The Washington Post based its story on “classified US intelligence,” adding fuel to concerns over unauthorized leaks.
DOJ Under Biden Targets Trump
This latest revelation comes amid broader allegations that the Biden administration’s DOJ has targeted Trump for political purposes. Critics argue that the DOJ’s actions were part of a coordinated effort to undermine the former president’s campaign during the 2024 election cycle.
The Biden DOJ has pursued multiple investigations against Trump, ranging from the alleged mishandling of classified documents to charges related to January 6th.
These cases have drawn accusations of selective enforcement, as some argue that high-profile Democrats, including President Biden himself, have faced minimal scrutiny for similar issues. For example, Biden’s own handling of classified documents at his Delaware home and office has not resulted in the same level of prosecutorial zeal.
Additionally, the timing of Trump-related legal actions has raised suspicions of political motivation. Indictments and court proceedings have often coincided with significant moments in Trump’s campaign, leading some to question whether the DOJ was weaponizing its authority to influence the outcome of the 2024 election.
The Inspector General’s report now serves as another flashpoint in the ongoing debate over fairness and integrity in federal law enforcement.
