Democrats keep falling on their faces. They’re constantly embarrassing themselves.
And this Leftist senator was brutally humiliated by the Trump White House in a hilarious exchange.
White House Fires Back at Sen. Chris Murphy Over Parody Account Blunder
The White House lashed out at Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) after he mistakenly took a social media post from a Lara Trump parody account as an official statement.
In response to Murphy’s expletive-laden critique, the administration’s rapid response team did not hold back, calling the Connecticut senator a “moron.”
“You are a moron, Chris. It is obvious this page is not affiliated with President Trump, his family, or the administration. We do, however, support your right to make such a statement, no matter how imbecilic it makes you look,” read a post from the White House’s X account, Rapid Response 47, on Friday.
The account, launched in January, is designed to counter misinformation and challenge “fake news.”
The controversy began when Murphy took issue with a post he believed was made by Lara Trump. The message in question suggested that supporters of border czar Tom Homan should express approval for the arrest of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., for allegedly advising illegal immigrants on how to evade deportation.
“If you support Border Czar Tom Homan arresting AOC for giving illegal aliens instructions on how to avoid deportation, post a [thumbs up emoji] in the comments,” the post said.
Unaware that the account was a parody, Murphy reacted strongly, accusing the Trump administration of hypocrisy regarding free speech.
“It takes some f—ing gall to have Vance lecturing Europe on ‘free speech’ when at the exact same time the Trump regime is threatening Democrats back home with arrest if they even explain people’s rights to them,” Murphy said in a post on X.
Shortly after, Murphy’s post was flagged with a community note clarifying that the message originated from a fan-run parody page and not from Lara Trump herself.
“This is a screenshot of a parody account of Lara Trump. Her real account is below and no such post exists,” the community note stated.
The original post from the parody account appeared to reference Ocasio-Cortez’s office sharing a “Know Your Rights” guide, which provided illegal immigrants with information on avoiding deportation.
This guidance was issued amid the Trump administration’s intensified border enforcement efforts following the immigration crisis caused by President Joe Biden and his administration.
Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and now serving as border czar under President Donald Trump, recently addressed the matter on Fox News.
Speaking with Laura Ingraham, he revealed he had sought guidance from the Department of Justice to determine whether Ocasio-Cortez’s actions crossed a legal threshold.
“Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts?” Homan questioned on The Ingraham Angle. “If so, what are we going to do about it? Is she crossing the line? So I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out. Where is that line that they cross? So maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now.”
This should be a lesson for Senator Murphy to think before he posts on social media. The Trump White House isn’t letting anything slide when it comes to blatant misinformation.
