Donald Trump has accomplished a lot in his first month in office. But this may be his biggest accomplishment yet.

As President Trump just announced a massive win over this powerful enemy.

In a stunning turn of events, only 8,326 illegal immigrants were recorded at the U.S. southern border in February, a figure that has President Donald Trump proclaiming a decisive end to the migrant surge that marked the tenure of his predecessor, Joe Biden. The sharp drop signals a dramatic shift in border dynamics and a clear win for Trump’s hardline immigration stance.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump heralded the achievement with gusto: “The Invasion of our Country is OVER,” he wrote.

“The month of February, my first full month in Office, had the LOWEST number of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter our Country in History – BY FAR! There were only 8,326 apprehensions of Illegals by Border Patrol at the U.S. – Mexico Border, all of whom were quickly ejected from our Nation or, when necessary, prosecuted for crimes against the United States of America. This means that very few people came – The Invasion of our Country is OVER.”

Contrast this with December, Biden’s final full month in office, when 124,000 migrants were apprehended at U.S. borders. That number, while lower than the staggering 373,883 recorded in December 2023, still reflects the chaotic peak of Biden’s policies, which saw significant resources funneled into facilitating migrant arrivals from across the globe.

Trump didn’t hold back in drawing the comparison: “In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the Border is CLOSED to all Illegal Immigrants. Anyone who tries to illegally enter the U.S.A. will face significant criminal penalties and immediate deportation.”

Biden’s approach, championed by economic titans, political heavyweights, and media influencers, leaned heavily on permissive migration policies.

Yet, the American public, wielding their votes like a sledgehammer, smashed through that elite consensus, opting instead for a border sealed tight.

At the heart of Trump’s strategy is the dismantling of Biden-era programs like the murky “parole pipeline” schemes cooked up by Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s border czar.

Trump also axed the catch-and-release practices that once let migrants slip into the country with ease. Leveraging America’s economic clout, he strong-armed Mexico and Central American nations into staunching the migrant tide heading north.

Beyond the border, Trump’s flexing his muscle to choke off the deadly drug pipeline from Mexico and China—something Biden and Mayorkas largely ignored, preferring to keep Mexico sweet to manage migrant flows.

Mayorkas, for his part, offered little more than performative crackdowns, all while presiding over a migration wave he quietly endorsed.

That wave saw roughly 9 million people pour in from the south under Biden’s watch. It padded Wall Street’s bottom line but left a trail of devastation—dead Americans, lost migrants, and shattered nations like Haiti and Cuba in its wake.

Now, Trump’s stuck with the messy, costly job of deporting a sprawling population of low-income, low-skilled newcomers left behind by Biden’s lax reign.

Even with this border triumph, challenges loom. Trump and the nation’s 330 million citizens still face a swelling tide of white-collar H-1B visa holders streaming in through airports from places like India and China.

This influx is elbowing young Americans out of entry-level jobs and stalling mid-career climbs, while also putting a damper on the country’s innovation engine.

For now, though, Trump’s basking in a border win that’s as much a victory for American citizens as it is for his administration’s agenda.
