As this Leftist congressman spat in the face of these Americans with this shocking action.

Democrat Congressman’s Memorial Day Mission: Visiting a Deported MS-13-Linked Illegal Alien

On a day dedicated to honoring America’s fallen heroes, Democrat Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-MD) chose to travel to El Salvador, seeking to visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien with alleged ties to the notorious MS-13 gang. Abrego Garcia, deported to his home country and now held in El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center, faces accusations of domestic violence and human trafficking. Ivey’s trip, however, raises questions about priorities, as he referred to the Salvadoran citizen as “my constituent” in a post on X, lamenting being denied access to him.

“I’m the Congressman who represents Kilmar,” Ivey stated in a video, emphasizing his journey from the United States to check on Abrego Garcia. “Today, I was denied access to seeing my constituent, Mr. Kilmar Abrego Garcia,” he wrote, urging for permission to visit alongside the detainee’s lawyer.

Despite media outlets mistakenly labeling Abrego Garcia a “Maryland man,” his status as an illegal alien and his alleged connections to MS-13—a gang classified as a foreign terror organization by the Trump administration—paint a starkly different picture.

Abrego Garcia’s record is troubling. Court documents reveal he faces allegations of domestic abuse, with his wife filing for a protective order after enduring physical violence.

“Me and my kids are afraid now. He kicked me, pushed me, slapped me in the face and threatened me,” she stated in the filing, adding that Abrego Garcia boasted, “even if he k*lls me no one can do anything to him.”

Further complicating his case, body-camera footage from a Tennessee Highway Patrol stop suggests he was involved in trafficking illegal aliens. “He’s getting paid to haul these people, probably to Maryland, I would say,” an officer noted after pulling over Abrego Garcia, who was driving a car full of men without licenses or English proficiency.

Ivey is not alone in his advocacy. Other Democrats, including Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), who also called Abrego Garcia a “constituent,” and Reps. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Robert Garcia (D-CA), and Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ), have made similar trips to El Salvador.

While Van Hollen visited last month without inquiring about MS-13 ties, the trio of congressmen met with the U.S. Ambassador to push for Abrego Garcia’s release. Their efforts, however, were rebuffed by Salvadoran authorities, with President Nayib Bukele firmly rejecting calls to return the detainee to the U.S. during a meeting with President Donald Trump.

Bukele’s stance was unequivocal. “The question is preposterous, how can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States?” he told a journalist, defending El Salvador’s transformation from “the m*rder capital of the world” to a safer nation. “I’m not very fond of releasing terrorists into our country … That’s not going to happen,” he added.

Prioritizing Criminal Illegal Immigrants Over U.S. Citizens

The actions of these Democratic lawmakers highlight a troubling trend: a focus on defending illegal immigrants, even those with alleged criminal ties, over the needs of American citizens. While Memorial Day is a time to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the nation, Rep. Ivey and others chose to advocate for an individual accused of heinous crimes, including domestic violence and human trafficking.

This raises serious questions about where their loyalties lie. Instead of addressing pressing issues like veteran care, border security, or economic challenges facing their constituents, these lawmakers expended time and resources traveling internationally to champion the cause of an alleged gang affiliate.

This pattern extends beyond Abrego Garcia’s case. Democrats have consistently pushed policies that appear to prioritize illegal immigrants over law-abiding citizens.

From sanctuary city laws that shield criminal aliens from deportation to calls for amnesty without stringent enforcement, these policies often sideline the safety and economic well-being of Americans.

For instance, resources allocated to processing and supporting illegal immigrants—such as housing, healthcare, and legal aid—frequently divert funds from programs that could benefit struggling U.S. families, veterans, or the homeless.

The focus on Abrego Garcia, a man with documented ties to a violent gang, exemplifies this misalignment. By framing him as a “constituent” and downplaying his alleged crimes, these lawmakers risk sending a message that the rights of criminal illegal immigrants take precedence over those of American citizens who face daily challenges. This approach not only undermines public trust but also disregards the sacrifices of those who fought for the nation’s safety—honored on days like Memorial Day.
