As this radical Democrat strategist has made an insane claim about the 2026 midterms.

Carville Raises Alarm Over Potential Election Meddling in 2026 Midterms

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville voiced deep concerns this week about the possibility of President Donald Trump and his administration interfering with the 2026 midterm elections. In a candid interview on The Jim Acosta Show on Tuesday, Carville warned that Trump could manipulate votes to prevent Democrats from gaining ground in Congress, threatening his second-term agenda.

When host Jim Acosta relayed a viewer’s question about whether Trump might tamper with the midterm elections, Carville didn’t mince words. “In the short word, yes,” he said. “In the longer words, very.”

Carville pointed to upcoming electoral contests, particularly the 2025 Virginia governor’s race between Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears and former Democratic congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, as a potential trigger for Trump’s anxiety about Republican control.

“And I think what may happen, he’s going to see the writing on the wall in Virginia,” Carville predicted, suggesting that early election results could signal trouble for congressional Republicans.

As retirements mount and competitive races emerge, Carville believes Trump will grow increasingly desperate. “This is what I think is going to happen,” he said. “And [Trump’s] going to see retirements and people are going to start coming in.”

He warned that Trump might react by thinking, “‘We’re getting ready to lose. I gotta change and I gotta get some distance,’ and he’s going to see all that coming.”

Carville expressed a chilling lack of faith in Trump’s restraint, stating, “I don’t put anything past him — nothing — to try to call the election off, to do anything he can. He can think of things like that, that – that, you know, we can’t because we’re not accustomed to thinking like that.”

“We always assume there’s going to be an election. In your case, ‘How do I cover the election?’ In my case, ‘How do I affect the election?’”

The strategist noted that these fears are not his alone, as others have confided similar worries. “I say, you should be,” Carville urged. “You have every reason to be scared. Don’t kid yourself.”

Acosta, a vocal Trump critic, echoed the concern, describing the scenario as “scary s—” and pointing to Trump’s past attempts to challenge election results.

“And he’s already tried to steal one election before, so, I mean, what’s to say he’s not going to try to steal more?” Acosta remarked.

The White House swiftly rebuffed Carville’s claims in a statement to Fox News Digital. “President Trump has taken more action to restore the integrity of our elections on behalf of the American people than any president in modern history,” state spokesperson Taylor Rodgers.

“According to the Democrats, voter fraud doesn’t exist – but clearly they are already searching for copouts preparing to lose big again in the midterms.”

Carville’s track record on Trump predictions has been mixed. Before the 2024 presidential election, he confidently wrote in a New York Times column that former Vice President Kamala Harris would win the White House.

Earlier this year, in March, he claimed Trump’s second term had already crumbled just months after inauguration.
