AOC has been on a radical rampage lately. Her actions are landing her in hot water.
As Ocasio-Cortez was threatened with a career-shattering lawsuit after what she did to Donald Trump.
New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has set off a political firestorm with a provocative social media post calling President Donald Trump a “r*pist” in connection to the ongoing controversy surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case.
The outspoken Democrat, known for her heated clashes with Trump over the years, took to X on Friday, writing, “Wow who would have thought that electing a r*pist would have complicated the release of the Epstein Files?” Her comment appeared to reference the 2023 civil trial brought by writer E. Jean Carroll, where a jury found Trump liable for s*xual assault but stopped short of a r*pe finding.
The post sparked immediate backlash, with Trump supporters and legal commentators accusing Ocasio-Cortez of crossing a legal line into defamation. Critics seized on the jury’s distinction in the Carroll case, arguing that her use of “r*pist” was misleading and potentially actionable.
Legal analyst Phil Holloway fired back on X, declaring, “The President should sue AOC into bankruptcy. I realize she’s trying to raise her profile but this is way way too far.” Utah Senator Mike Lee echoed the sentiment, posting, “Even under the ridiculously lenient standards of NY Times v. Sullivan, you’ve managed to incur defamation liability Wow.”
Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin took aim at the timing of her remark, questioning, “Why didn’t you guys release the Epstein files over the last 4 years? Maybe you were too busy covering for Joe Biden… or, could it have something to do with another former Democrat President?”
Bill Mitchell, host of YourVoice America, was blunt, stating, “Well we have grounds for a huge defamation suit here you idiot because Donald Trump has never been indicted for r*pe much less convicted.”
The controversy draws parallels to a recent $15 million settlement paid by ABC News and anchor George Stephanopoulos to Trump after Stephanopoulos claimed in a March 2024 interview with Representative Nancy Mace that Trump was found “liable for r*pe” in the Carroll case.
During the contentious exchange, Stephanopoulos pressed Mace, saying, “Judges and two separate juries have found him liable for r*pe and for defaming the victim of that r*pe.”
ABC later issued a statement of regret: “ABC News and George Stephanopoulos regret statements regarding President Donald J. Trump made during an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Rep. Nancy Mace on ABC’s This Week on March 10, 2024.”
Trump ally Laura Loomer piled on, posting, “Donald Trump has not been criminally convicted of being a r*pist. This is defamatory. And I hope you are sued by Trump for this the same way George Stephanopoulos was sued and forced to pay Trump $15 million dollars. I hope you have millions ready for Trump, Porky. @AOC.”
Townhall’s Rachel Alexander added, “This is gonna be fun. AOC is so dumb she just called Trump a r*pist – after ABC was forced to fork over $16 million in a settlement with Trump after George Stephanopoulos called him a r*pist.”
Some X users came to Ocasio-Cortez’s defense, arguing her post didn’t explicitly name Trump and that a defamation lawsuit would face hurdles. Still, the Trump team hit back hard, with White House communication director Steven Cheung telling Fox News Digital:
“AOC likes to play pretend like she’s from the block, but in reality she’s just a sad, miserable blockhead who is trying to over-compensate for her lack of self-confidence that has followed her for her entire life.”
“Instead, she should get some serious help for her obvious and severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted her pea-sized brain.”
The Epstein case, centered on the financier’s 2019 death in a New York jail while facing child s*x trafficking charges, remains a lightning rod for speculation. The Trump Department of Justice has stated no client list exists, further fueling the debate.
Fox News Digital reached out to Ocasio-Cortez’s office on Sunday but received no immediate response. As the dust settles, her false remark about President Trump further points to her status as an unhinged Leftist in Congress.
