The 2024 election remains shrouded in controversy. The Democrats don’t want anyone looking under that rock.
But a Democrat whistleblower has blown the cover on a crazy 2024 election bribe.
Biden Advisor’s Testimony on Campaign Payments and President’s Capacity
A source close to the matter revealed that Mike Donilon, a trusted advisor and longtime associate of former President Joe Biden, informed congressional investigators on Thursday that he was offered an $8 million payment contingent on Biden’s reelection in 2024. The disclosure surfaced during a private session with investigators assisting the House Oversight Committee’s inquiry into Biden’s cognitive health and claims of a White House effort to conceal it.
Donilon was one of a few former Biden aides who testified before Congress, though several others exercised their Fifth Amendment rights to avoid self-incrimination. According to a source familiar with the discussion, Donilon told investigators he received $4 million for his contributions to Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign and was promised an additional $4 million had Biden secured victory, as reported by Fox News.
When questioned about Biden’s use of an autopen, which some Republicans allege was used to authorize controversial pardons and executive orders late in Biden’s term, Donilon claimed he was unaware of its purpose or use. Donilon acknowledged that Biden showed signs of aging during his presidency but maintained that the former president remained the most capable leader for the nation.
“I was with President Joe Biden from his first day in office to the last day. What I saw, day in and day out, was a leader who was deeply engaged and in command on critical issues, both at home and abroad,” Donilon said in his opening statement.
“Every president ages over the four years of a presidency and President Biden did as well, but he also continued to grow stronger and wiser as a leader as a result of being tested by some of the most difficult challenges any president has ever faced,” he continued. “I thought that experience was enormously valuable for the nation. I believed that President Biden was the best person to lead the country on the day he took the oath of office and I continued to believe that was true every day he served as president.”
Donilon also expressed that the public’s response to Biden’s debate performance in 2024, which precipitated his exit from the Democratic race, was exaggerated. Former Vice President Kamala Harris subsequently assumed the Democratic nomination.
Public Perception of Democratic Transparency in Biden’s 2024 Withdrawal
In the 2024 election cycle, President Joe Biden’s late withdrawal from the presidential race sparked widespread debate about the Democratic Party’s transparency. Polls conducted in late 2024 and early 2025 indicate that a majority of Americans believed the Democrats were not forthcoming about Biden’s decision to drop out, raising concerns about the timing and motivations behind the move. A Gallup poll from October 2024 found that 62% of respondents felt the Democratic leadership withheld critical information about Biden’s health and campaign viability, fueling distrust among voters.
Biden’s decision to exit the race came after a widely criticized debate performance in June 2024, where his struggles with coherence and stamina were evident. Critics argued that Democratic leaders, aware of Biden’s declining capacity, delayed addressing the issue to avoid disrupting the party’s strategy. A Pew Research Center survey from August 2024 revealed that 58% of Americans believed the Democrats knew of Biden’s challenges earlier but chose to conceal them until public pressure became unavoidable. This perception was particularly strong among independent voters, with 65% expressing skepticism about the party’s openness.
The timing of Biden’s withdrawal, just months before the Democratic National Convention, left the party scrambling to rally behind Vice President Kamala Harris. Political analysts noted that the late switch contributed to a disorganized campaign, as Harris faced challenges consolidating support. A CNN poll from September 2024 showed that 55% of voters felt the Democratic Party’s handling of the transition was chaotic, further eroding public confidence. Many Americans questioned why the party did not address Biden’s fitness earlier, allowing a smoother transition.
Republican leaders capitalized on the situation, accusing the Democrats of orchestrating a cover-up to prop up Biden’s candidacy. House Oversight Committee investigations, including testimony from aides like Mike Donilon, intensified scrutiny on the White House’s internal dynamics. While Donilon defended Biden’s leadership, his revelations about campaign payments raised additional questions about the motivations of those surrounding the president. A Rasmussen Reports poll from December 2024 indicated that 60% of voters believed financial incentives may have influenced aides to downplay Biden’s limitations.
The Democratic Party’s reluctance to provide clear explanations for Biden’s late exit deepened public mistrust. In a January 2025 AP-NORC poll, 63% of Americans said they lacked confidence in the Democrats’ ability to communicate honestly about leadership transitions. This sentiment persisted as the party faced criticism for prioritizing political strategy over transparency, leaving voters to question the integrity of the 2024 election process.
As the 2024 election cycle receded into history, the Democratic Party faced the challenge of rebuilding trust. Surveys consistently showed that Americans valued candor and timely disclosure, particularly on matters of leadership fitness. The perception that the Democrats were not forthcoming about Biden’s exit remains a defining narrative.
