The GOP is coming off some major wins in the last election cycle. But not everyone in the party is united.

And this leading Republican is having a meltdown over what her party just did.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Growing Divide with the Republican Party

In a revealing interview with the Daily Mail, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has aired her mounting frustrations with the Republican Party, accusing it of straying from President Trump’s “America First” vision and slipping back into its old “neocon” tendencies.

The outspoken conservative expressed uncertainty about her place within the party, saying, “I don’t know if the Republican Party is leaving me, or if I’m kind of not relating to [the] Republican Party as much anymore. I don’t know which one it is.”

A Rift with the GOP Base

Greene, 51, lauded Trump’s leadership during his time in office. Yet, she warned of a growing gap between Republican lawmakers and their grassroots supporters, stating, “I think the Republican Party has turned its back on America First and the workers and just regular Americans.”

Her comments highlight a tension that has been simmering within the party, as she perceives a drift from the priorities that energized its base.

Recent months have seen Greene publicly diverge from Trump on key foreign policy issues, including military actions against Iran, increased support for Ukraine against Russia, and Israel’s conflict in Gaza, which she controversially labeled a “genocide.”

Despite these differences, Greene was quick to reaffirm her loyalty, insisting she “has always been President Trump’s most outspoken ally” and denying any “break” with him.

Tensions with Party Leadership

Within Congress, Greene pointed to a “good old boys” club she believes is undermining Trump’s agenda. She took aim at House Speaker Mike Johnson, stating, “I’m not afraid of [House Speaker] Mike Johnson at all.”

Last year, she led an unsuccessful push to oust Johnson after he backed a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine. Greene also criticized the party’s treatment of women, particularly Rep. Elise Stefanik, who was initially nominated by Trump for UN ambassador but saw the nomination rescinded amid concerns about the GOP’s slim House majority.

“She got screwed by Mike Johnson, and she got screwed by the White House. I’m not blaming Trump, particularly. I’m blaming the people in the White House,” Greene said, also questioning why Rep. Mike Waltz was “awarded” the UN envoy role “after Signalgate.”

Broken Promises

Greene further lambasted the party for not delivering on promises like the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) cost-cutting initiatives and deficit reduction. “Like, what happened to all those issues? … I don’t know what the h*ll happened with the Republican Party. I really don’t,” she said to the Daily Mail.

Her frustration reached a boiling point as she declared, “But I’ll tell you one thing, the course that it’s on, I don’t want to have anything to do with it, and I, I just don’t care anymore.”

Greene’s candid remarks signal a deepening rift within the Republican Party, as one of its most vocal figures questions its commitment to the principles that rallied its supporters.

Whether this marks a personal break or a call for the party to realign with its base remains unclear, but her words point to a pivotal moment for the GOP’s future.
