The Biden family has been utterly disgraced. But Hunter Biden keeps doubling down.
And now Hunter Biden has disrespected First Lady Melania with two words the President is not going to like.
Hunter Biden Doubles Down on Wild Epstein Smear Against Melania Trump, Refusing to Back Down Amid Legal Threats
Hunter Biden appeared on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan Thursday, declaring he would not apologize for his earlier claim that deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein “introduced” first lady Melania Trump to President Donald Trump. This comes after Hunter made the inflammatory statement in a prior interview with journalist Andrew Callaghan, sparking immediate backlash.
The first lady’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, fired off a letter on Aug. 6, warning of potential legal action seeking over $1 billion in damages against Hunter for what he described as “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements.” The demand included an immediate deletion of the content and a public apology, according to Fox News reports. But Hunter stood firm on the YouTube show, insisting an apology was “not going to happen.” “F*ck that,” he said.
Hunter justified his original assertion by pointing to reports from journalists and authors, naming Michael Wolff specifically as a source. He dismissed the legal threat as nothing more than a “distraction” from the real victims— the children abused by Epstein.
“I also think they’re bullies,” he added. “And they think that a billion dollars is going to scare me… I have this to say to them: if they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the nature of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein, if the president and the first lady want to do that, and all of the known associates around them at the time of whatever time that they met — I’m more than happy to provide them the platform to be able to do it.”
Democratic strategist James Carville, for example, quickly folded after receiving a letter. On the Aug. 7 episode of his podcast Politics War Room, he announced that his team had removed a video mentioning alleged connections between Epstein, the president, and the first lady. Carville went further, issuing a full retraction and apology for his remarks.
The Daily Beast also backed down, pulling a July 30 article that claimed the first lady was “very involved” with Epstein. An editor’s note explained the retraction followed a challenge from Melania’s attorney regarding “the headline and framing of the article.”
Hunter’s refusal to retract highlights a deeper pattern of recklessness in the Biden family, which many Americans already view as mired in disgrace due to years of scandals involving foreign cash, legal troubles, and ethical lapses.
At the center stands Hunter himself, whose foreign business dealings have drawn intense scrutiny. Investigations reveal he raked in millions from entities in Ukraine, China, and Romania while his father served as vice president, often without clear expertise in those fields. His role on the board of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma, earning up to $83,000 monthly, coincided with Joe Biden’s oversight of U.S. policy toward Ukraine, raising red flags about influence peddling.
The House Oversight Committee has uncovered evidence of over 20 shell companies used by the Bidens and associates to funnel more than $24 million from foreign sources, including Chinese companies tied to intelligence agencies. Bank records show wires totaling millions landing in accounts linked to Hunter, his uncle James Biden, and even Hallie Biden, widow of Hunter’s late brother Beau.
Joe Biden has repeatedly denied involvement, claiming an “absolute wall” between his duties and family business. Yet testimony from Hunter’s ex-partner Devon Archer indicates Joe spoke on speakerphone at least 20 times with Hunter’s foreign associates, sending “signals” of access to “The Brand”—the Biden name. Archer described meetings where Joe dined with Russian oligarchs and Chinese executives who later paid the family handsomely.
Hunter’s personal demons have only amplified the family’s tarnished image. His battles with crack cocaine addiction led to federal convictions on gun charges—for lying about drug use when buying a firearm—and tax evasion for failing to pay over $1.4 million. In a stunning move, President Biden pardoned his son in late 2024, wiping the slate clean despite earlier vows not to interfere. Critics call it a confession of corruption, shielding the family from accountability.
Beyond Hunter, the scandals touch other relatives. Uncle James Biden leveraged family ties for deals in healthcare and overseas ventures, including a $1 million payment from a Chinese firm. Even Frank Biden, another brother, pursued questionable business in South America, while daughter Ashley’s husband faced scrutiny over government-linked medical firms.
Polls reflect widespread American disgust with the Bidens. Over 70% believe Hunter profited from his father’s positions, with majorities viewing the family as ethically compromised. A Quinnipiac survey found 35% think Joe did something illegal in Hunter’s Ukraine and China dealings, while another 14% see unethical but legal conduct. This perception of a “Biden crime family” has fueled calls for impeachment, with Republicans arguing the president abused his office for personal gain.
