No one is above the law. This mainstream media host just learned that the hard way.

And a Fox News anchor was stopped by police in a confrontation that will absolutely stun you.

Bret Baier of Fox News Caught in Traffic Stop

In Washington, DC, where President Trump’s intensified focus on public safety is transforming the city, even prominent media figures find themselves under the watchful eye of the law. On Saturday, a vigilant police officer spotted Fox News chief political anchor and Special Report host Bret Baier using his cellphone while navigating the upscale streets of Georgetown.

Baier took to X on Tuesday to own up to the incident after a video of the traffic stop spread across social media. “I picked up my ringing phone as I drove past an officer while driving my wife’s car in Georgetown,” he admitted.

“He pointed to have me pull over — I did. He was very professional. I had to dig for the registration card. Got a ticket and left. I didn’t know there was paparazzi,” he quipped, adding an eye-roll emoji for emphasis.

The moment was captured by Mollaan Babbington Group, a local DC real estate firm, showing Baier behind the wheel of a sleek white Mercedes-Benz G-Class. In the nation’s capitol, like many places, using a cellphone for calls or texts while driving is against the law unless it’s hands-free.

The traffic stop came hot on the heels of Baier’s high-profile assignment: traveling with President Trump on Air Force One to Anchorage, Alaska, for a pivotal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Baier scored an exclusive interview with Trump en route and, on the same day as his Georgetown run-in, joined the president and special envoy Steve Witkoff for a round of golf at Trump’s northern Virginia course.

Meanwhile, DC has been under a heightened state of law enforcement since Aug. 7, spurred by a wave of brazen crimes targeting public officials.

A particularly jarring incident involved Edward Coristine, a former Department of Government Efficiency worker, who was viciously attacked by juveniles while trying to thwart a carjacking on Aug. 3.

In response, Trump rolled out federal law enforcement across the city and, on Aug. 11, federalized the DC Metropolitan Police Department while activating the DC National Guard for a 30-day mission.

The results have been striking. The Trump administration reports hundreds of arrests, including 52 suspects nabbed in a single night on Monday. Among recent arrests is a suspected MS-13 gang member, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The DC Police Union credits Trump’s initiative with an 8% overall crime drop, including an 83% plunge in carjackings and a 46% decrease in robberies.

With Trump hinting at extending federal control over DC’s police beyond the initial 30 days, the capital is bracing for a new standard of law enforcement.

For now, whether you’re a suspected gang member or a well-known news anchor, no one escapes the long arm of the law in today’s DC.
