Trump is dead serious about fixing this issue. But not everyone seems on board.

That’s why President Trump has given this Leftist mayor a brutal ultimatum they can’t ignore.

Trump Vows to Restore Safety in D.C. Amid Clash Over Crime Data

President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on Friday morning, threatening to seize “complete and total” control of the city if issues with “false and highly inaccurate crime figures” are not resolved. In a spirited post on Truth Social, Trump commended the National Guard and local police for their strong presence on the streets of D.C., part of his administration’s push to curb violent crime in the district.

Highlighting a recent achievement, Trump noted that D.C. has seen over a week without a m*rder. The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed this statistic on Thursday to Fox News.

“Washington, D.C. is SAFE AGAIN! The crowds are coming back, the spirit is high, and our D.C. National Guard and Police are doing a fantastic job. They are out in force, and are NOT PLAYING GAMES!!!” Trump proclaimed.

Yet, the president stressed that challenges remain, particularly with the city’s crime reporting. He directly called out Bowser, stating, “Mayor Muriel Bowser must immediately stop giving false and highly inaccurate crime figures, or bad things will happen, including a complete and total Federal takeover of the City!” He added with optimism, “Washington D.C. will soon be great again!!!”

The accuracy of D.C.’s crime statistics has created a heated debate. The D.C. Police Union, representing 3,000 officers, has questioned the reliability of the data reported by the police department.

While Bowser has pointed to a significant drop in violent crime over the past two years to counter Trump’s push for federal intervention, union leaders argue the numbers paint an incomplete picture.

“I think that there’s a possibility that crime has come down,” said D.C. Police Union President Gregg Pemberton, as reported by NBC News. However, he called claims of substantial declines “preposterous,” explaining, “What we know, what our members know, is that we go call to call to call out on the streets at night, going from robbery to carjacking to stabbing to shooting, and we just know that crime is ubiquitous, and it’s all in every quadrant of the city.”

He added, “So to have people tell us, ‘well, crime is down, you shouldn’t be worried about that,’ that’s not the reality that we feel on the streets.”

The controversy has drawn federal scrutiny. The Department of Justice recently launched a probe into whether D.C. police officials manipulated crime data, according to The Washington Post.

The investigation follows the suspension of police commander Michael Pulliam in May over allegations of tampering with crime statistics, which he has denied. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro is spearheading the inquiry, which may examine multiple officials within the department.

Recently, Trump unveiled an ambitious plan to “make D.C. safe again,” with the Justice Department and Attorney General Pam Bondi temporarily taking charge of the Metropolitan Police Department and appointing Drug Enforcement Administration head Terry Cole as emergency police commissioner.

A federal judge, however, halted full federal control. On Friday, a compromise allowed local officials to maintain authority while Cole directs specific police operations deemed necessary by the attorney general, as reported by POLITICO.

Last Thursday evening, Trump went on patrol with National Guard troops and federal agents, delivering food and words of commendation.

“You people are winners, and it’s such an honor to be with you,” he told the group. “We’re going to make Washington, D.C., great again. We’re making the country great again.”

As tensions over crime data persist, Trump’s commitment to revitalizing safety in the nation’s capital remains a cornerstone of his agenda, with pledges to transform Washington, D.C. into a thriving, secure city.
