The Democrats think they can use Trump as a punching bag. They have another thing coming.

Because Trump’s border czar came to the President’s defense by shredding a leading Democrat to pieces.

Border Czar Tom Homan Tears Into Gavin Newsom for Betraying American Safety in California Crackdown

In a fiery rebuke, Border Czar Tom Homan slammed Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom on Thursday, accusing him of lacking any real integrity when it comes to backing Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s mission to protect his own state from dangerous criminals.

Homan’s comments came during an appearance on America’s Newsroom, where he didn’t hold back in labeling Newsom an outright embarrassment. This followed Newsom’s wild claims at a Politico summit the day before, where the governor bashed ICE as some kind of rogue private police force loyal only to President Donald Trump, ignoring the Constitution entirely.

“It’s disgusting. He’s an embarrassment to the position he holds,” Homan said. “If he had an ounce of integrity, if [Democrat Los Angeles Mayor] Karen Bass had an ounce of integrity, they’d be thanking President Trump for making California safe again. You just listed all the bad people we’ve taken off streets. We’re gonna be there today, we’re gonna be there tomorrow, we’re not going anywhere. President Trump made a promise to the American people that we’re gonna make this country safe again, and that includes L.A., that includes California.”

Homan pointed out the massive success of ICE operations under Trump, with around 200,000 arrests and 350,000 deportations of illegal immigrant criminals since the president returned to office in January. He made it clear that despite opposition from liberal leaders like Newsom, federal agents will keep pushing forward to rid communities of threats.

“Governor Newsom can just sit back and watch us make his state safe again because they’ve done nothing, we’ll do it for them,” Homan continued.

Recent reports from the Department of Homeland Security highlight the impact, showing U.S. Border Patrol and ICE nabbing 5,000 criminals in Los Angeles alone since June. These include vicious gang members, child predators, and m*rderers who had been roaming free under California’s lax policies.

Newsom has repeatedly lashed out at the Trump administration’s tough stance on illegal immigration, framing routine enforcement actions as attacks on the innocent. After one raid on an illegal marijuana farm turned violent, he went so far as to accuse agents of traumatizing children by hauling away their parents right in front of them, branding Trump as “scum” for the operation.

Adding fuel to the fire, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, another Democrat, issued a sanctuary order in July that bans local officials from working with ICE, effectively shielding criminals and undermining federal law enforcement efforts.

This latest clash is just the tip of the iceberg in the ongoing war between President Trump and Governor Newsom, a rivalry that has simmered for years and exploded into open hostility over issues like immigration and disaster aid.

The bad blood traces back to Trump’s first term, when he threatened to cut federal wildfire aid to California unless Newsom cracked down on sanctuary policies that protect illegal immigrants. Newsom, positioning himself as a resistance figure, pushed back hard, turning the state into a haven for those evading deportation.

Tensions ramped up further during massive wildfires, where Trump accused Newsom of poor forest management and used aid as leverage to demand compliance with immigration laws. Newsom later described negotiating with Trump as “threatening,” highlighting the personal animosity that defines their exchanges.

More recently, the feud reignited over anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles, prompting Trump to deploy the National Guard to support raids and maintain order amid chaos stirred by liberal activists. Newsom responded by suing the administration, claiming an illegal takeover of California’s National Guard unit.

Newsom’s aggressive trolling of Trump on social media has only intensified the conflict, with the governor mimicking the president’s style to mock him, all while eyeing a potential 2028 White House run. This strategy has drawn attention but also risks alienating voters tired of endless political theater.

Legal battles have become a staple of their rivalry, including Newsom’s defamation suit against Fox News over claims about his communications with Trump, and ongoing court fights over the National Guard’s role in immigration enforcement.
