The Left is doing all they can to obstruct immigration officials. But they can’t keep this under wraps.

Now ICE raided a Fortune 500 company and Democrats are losing their minds.

Cracking Down on Illegal Labor: ICE’s Bold Move in Georgia

In a decisive strike against illegal employment, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained 475 workers, predominantly South Korean nationals, at a Hyundai-LG battery plant construction site in Ellabell, Georgia, on September 4. The raid, dubbed “Operation Low Voltage,” targeted a $7.6 billion facility—Georgia’s largest economic development project—exposing widespread use of unauthorized labor.

ICE’s action, part of President Trump’s aggressive immigration enforcement agenda, underscores a commitment to protecting American jobs, as Special Agent Steven Schrank declared, “This underscores our commitment to jobs for Georgians and Americans.”

Local resident Tori Branum, who helped spark the operation, posted on Facebook, “So I wasn’t going to say anything about this, but let me make it clear. Yes I did report the Hyundai plant to ICE and yes, I did talk to an agent. I also sent him contact info for people that had evidence… This isn’t about discrimination, it’s about slave labor and illegal workers.”

Her tip-off led to a months-long investigation revealing that many workers, including those on B-1/B-2 visas or overstayed permits, were illegally employed, potentially displacing local workers.

Corporate Evasion Exposed: Hyundai’s Subcontractor Shield

The raid revealed a troubling pattern of corporate sidestepping, with Hyundai and LG Energy Solution distancing themselves through subcontractors.

Immigration expert Jay Palmer told Breitbart News, “They push the people [job applicants] to staffing agencies, and then they hire them from staffing agencies, and then think they’re shielded by the law because they have a master service agreement that states [immigration status] is not their responsibility. This is happening in every industry, especially in meat processing plants… It’s just egregious.”

Hyundai claimed none of its direct employees were detained, while LG reported 47 of its workers were among the 475 arrested.

The operation, involving over 400 agents, targeted workers who entered via Biden-era policies or misused visa waivers, highlighting how companies like Hyundai exploit loopholes to undercut American labor. ICE’s intervention sends a clear message: corporate giants can’t hide behind subcontractors to flout immigration laws, ensuring fair opportunities for U.S. workers.

Democratic Deflection: Hochul and Allies Dodge Accountability

Democratic leaders, including New York Governor Kathy Hochul, have sidestepped the issue of illegal labor while condemning ICE’s actions.

Hochul, whose state saw a similar raid at a Nutrition Bar Confectioners plant, claimed such operations “will not make New York safer” and “shatter hard-working families.”

Georgia’s Democratic Party, led by Charlie Bailey, echoed this, stating, “These raids are politically-motivated fear tactics designed to terrorize people who work hard for a living, power our economy, and contribute to the communities across Georgia that they have made their homes.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal complained, “Trump promised to go after the ‘worst of the worst,’” adding, “Yet his ICE is targeting everyday people, many of whom have legal status or are hardworking members of our communities.” Rep. Bob Menendez claimed, “This is no longer about dangerous criminals. This is about ripping communities & families apart.” Georgia’s AFL-CIO decried the raid for creating “an atmosphere of fear.”

Yet these criticisms gloss over the illegal employment practices exposed, with Hochul and her allies failing to address how such labor undercuts American workers. By focusing on emotional appeals, they evade accountability for enabling a system that prioritizes corporate profits over legal compliance, leaving ICE to uphold the law where Democrats won’t.
