The money keeps on rolling in. And Americans are the only ones who are going to benefit.
Because Trump secured $170 billion in a groundbreaking move for U.S. industry.
Trump Administration Hits Milestone in Overseas Deals for U.S. Firms
The Department of Commerce revealed Tuesday that American businesses have locked in a staggering $170 billion worth of contracts with foreign governments since President Donald Trump began his second term, marking an all-time high for such agreements.
This breakthrough highlights a surge in international opportunities for U.S. companies under the current administration.
Spanning 98 separate contracts, these pacts are projected to drive $144 billion in exports of American-made goods and sustain around 600,000 jobs back home, per details from the International Trade Administration (ITA), the Commerce Department’s trade promotion unit.
The figure stands in stark contrast to the mere $12 billion in similar deals inked during the equivalent timeframe in 2021 under President Joe Biden, highlighting a dramatic uptick in global competitiveness.
Sector Breakdown Shows Aerospace Dominance
Aerospace and defense industries claimed the bulk of the wins, nabbing $153 billion in commitments that bolster key national sectors.
Additional agreements covered roughly $5 billion in nuclear, oil, and gas initiatives; $800 million for information technology solutions; and over $600 million in safety and security gear, reflecting diverse strengths in American innovation.
Commerce leaders framed the achievements as evidence of a deliberate strategy to elevate U.S. enterprises on the world stage. “The record-breaking U.S. business wins under President Trump’s leadership reflect an unwavering commitment to rebuilding U.S. industry for the American worker,” Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick declared in a prepared statement.
A recent White House photo captured President Donald Trump addressing remarks with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick nearby, following the signing of executive orders in the Oval Office on February 25.
Lutnick elaborated, “With record business wins abroad, America is strong again, and together with the American worker, President Trump is transforming the U.S. economy, rebalancing our global trade and restoring America’s place in the world.”
Advocacy Efforts Fuel Job Growth and Future Gains
Much of the momentum traces back to the ITA’s Advocacy Center, a specialized Commerce team that aids U.S. firms in vying for overseas government work by promoting fair, merit-driven evaluations of proposals.
“In the first nine months of the Trump administration, ITA advocacy has worked tirelessly to win contracts to support hundreds of thousands of American jobs,” noted Under Secretary of Commerce William Kimmitt. He pledged, “We will continue to be an unrelenting advocate around the world in support of American workers.”
These developments signal a push to harness trade diplomacy for domestic economic vitality, positioning U.S. manufacturers at the forefront of global markets.
