The midterms aren’t until next year, but there’s still plenty of important races happening this November. The Left are desperate for some wins.

But Democrats are scared beyond belief after seeing this latest election poll.

In the heart of Virginia’s heated gubernatorial showdown, Democrat Abigail Spanberger clings to a slim edge over Republican powerhouse Winsome Earle-Sears, but it’s so tight it could flip any moment. A fresh poll from the Trafalgar Group spells out the nail-biter, showing Spanberger barely ahead in what promises to be a fierce battle for the commonwealth’s future.

Conducted from October 8 through the 10, this survey tapped into the views of 1,066 likely voters gearing up for the general election. If ballots were cast tomorrow, Spanberger would snag 47.7 percent of the support, while Earle-Sears trails at 45.1 percent—a gap that’s razor-thin and well inside the poll’s 2.9 percent margin of error.

That leaves plenty of room for Earle-Sears to surge ahead, especially with 5.6 percent of folks still sitting on the fence as undecided.

Earle-Sears, the current Lieutenant Governor, brings a no-nonsense, America-first vibe to the race. She’s been vocal about cracking down on crime, slashing taxes, and protecting parental rights in schools—issues that resonate deeply with working-class Virginians tired of elite Washington insiders like Spanberger calling the shots.

Spanberger, a former CIA operative turned congresswoman, tries to paint herself as a moderate, but critics say she’s just another Democrat toeing the party line on big government spending and open borders. This poll hints that her act might not be fooling everyone, as Earle-Sears closes in fast.

Shifting gears to the attorney general contest, Republican incumbent Jason Miyares holds a solid advantage over his Democrat challenger, Jay Jones. The same Trafalgar poll pegs Miyares at 48.9 percent, towering over Jones at 43.1 percent—a lead that’s got momentum on the GOP side.

Miyares’ edge comes amid fresh revelations that have put Jones in hot water, exposing the kind of reckless talk that has no place in public service.

The National Review dropped a bombshell article uncovering text messages from Jones to Virginia House Delegate Carrie Coyner, a Republican. In those exchanges, Jones entertained a wild hypothetical about shooting former Virginia Speaker of the House Todd Gilbert.

A spokesman for Coyner confirmed to the Washington Post that after those texts, Coyner and Jones hopped on a phone call. But things didn’t cool down—in a follow-up text thread, Jones allegedly “talked about Gilbert’s children dying in the arms of their mother.”

This disturbing episode has sparked outrage among conservatives, who argue it shows Jones’s unfitness for the top law enforcement job in Virginia.

Yet, when pressed during a recent debate with Earle-Sears about whether she still backs Jones, Spanberger dodged hard. She insisted that it was “up to every voter to make their own individual decision.”

“I am running for governor,” Spanberger said. “I am accountable for the words that I say, for the acts that I take, for the policies that I have put out.”

That non-answer has Republicans fuming, accusing Spanberger of weak leadership and refusing to cut ties with a toxic ally.

Earle-Sears, on the other hand, has been crystal clear in her campaigns, championing pro-life policies, secure elections, and economic growth that puts Virginians first.

This poll might show a close race, but with scandals like Jones’s dragging down the Democrat ticket, the tide could turn red come election day.

As Virginia voters weigh their options, this matchup boils down to a choice between proven conservative grit and the same old liberal excuses.

Earle-Sears represents the fighting spirit that’s ready to take on the establishment, while Spanberger’s slim lead feels like a house of cards waiting to collapse.
