The president is bringing out the anger in many Democrats. This Leftist is no exception.

And a U.S. senator went on a rage-filled rant against Donald Trump.

In the midst of this brutal government shutdown, Senator Cory Booker from New Jersey is pointing fingers at President Donald Trump, claiming he’s the one starving families by holding back food stamp funds. But it’s the Democrats who keep shooting down every attempt to reopen the government and get aid flowing again.

Booker, a vocal Democrat, went on a rant blaming Trump for the mess with food stamps. This comes as millions rely on these programs, but the real culprits are the ones refusing to negotiate.

While the House has passed a straightforward bill to fund the government without strings attached, Senate Democrats keep voting it down. They’re playing hardball, and now Booker’s out there on social media demanding Trump magically fix it all by himself.

In his video posted to X, Booker laid it out plain: “Right now, the Trump administration has sent out notices to every single state, including New Jersey, that they are going to stop paying SNAP payments.” He’s pushing the idea that Trump could just wave a wand and make the money appear.

But Booker didn’t stop there. He hammered home the point: “Now look, they have billions of dollars at their behest to pay SNAP. But they’re saying that they don’t.” It’s classic Democrat tactics—accuse the other side while ignoring their own roadblocks.

He even pulled in a report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, which argues that the USDA should dip into its emergency stash to cover SNAP when the regular funding dries up next month. According to them, there’s enough there to keep things going for a while.

The center’s piece claims the USDA, under Trump’s pick Secretary Brooke Rollins, holds “nearly two-thirds of the funds needed for a full month of benefits” in that contingency pot. They insist the administration “must release those funds immediately as SNAP law requires, to ensure that families can put food on the table next month.”

Booker echoed that sentiment, stressing how vital the program is: “SNAP is a lifeline for 42 million Americans, disproportionately children, to pay for food assistance for them.” He’s painting a picture of desperation, but forgets to mention who’s really holding up the works.

In his home state alone, Booker noted, “In my state, over 850,000 people rely on SNAP payments.” Fair enough, but then he goes full attack mode: “Donald Trump is withholding the money because he wants to inflict maximum pain on Americans to hope it helps him politically.”

Wrapping up his plea, Booker tried to rally the troops: “Well, this isn’t about politics, this is about people. This is urgent. So please stand with me to make sure that Donald Trump releases the money to pay for children, for vulnerable people, for our neighbors to eat.” It’s emotional, sure, but rings hollow when his party won’t budge.

And he didn’t let up: “Stop spreading lies about what you can’t do and do what you must do. This is about who we are as a people and what we stand for.”

Meanwhile, as Democrat bigwigs like Booker grandstand, they’re flat-out rejecting any talks from Republicans on a temporary funding deal. It’s all or nothing for them, even if it means folks go without essentials.

But Republicans aren’t sitting idle. Senate GOP members are buzzing about a bill from Missouri’s Senator Josh Hawley that would specifically keep SNAP funded through the shutdown.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune from South Dakota mentioned to the press that they’re looking at “some options,” though nothing’s locked in yet, according to Politico. It’s a step toward real action, unlike the blame game from the other side.

Hawley’s not waiting around. He vowed: “If they don’t give it a vote then I’m going to take it to the floor and try to UC it or UC a vote agreement.”
