Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, the Democrat who’s no stranger to medical drama, found himself back in the hospital this week after a nasty tumble during a walk near his Braddock home in Pennsylvania.
The incident happened on Thursday, and Fetterman’s office quickly put out a statement saying he was hospitalized “out of an abundance of caution” after falling and hitting his face.
Doctors have also diagnosed Fetterman with an issue known as a “ventricular fibrillation flare-up,” which basically means his heart wasn’t pumping blood the way it should.
This isn’t Fetterman’s first rodeo with serious health woes. Back in 2022, he pulled through a major stroke just months before squeaking into his Senate seat.
Despite the setback, Fetterman’s camp insists he’s on the mend. “He is doing well and receiving routine observation at the hospital,” his office stated.
They added that he’s sticking around voluntarily so the docs can tweak his meds.
Fetterman didn’t hold back on expressing thanks, either. “Senator Fetterman is grateful for the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who are providing his care,” the statement continued.
The fall came after Fetterman started “feeling light-headed,” leading to some minor injuries that weren’t detailed.
True to his style, Fetterman tried to lighten the mood with a bit of humor. “If you thought my face looked bad before,” he jokingly said, “wait until you see it now!”
This accident couldn’t have come at a weirder time – just two days after his memoir, Unfettered, hit the shelves.
