First Lady Melania Trump revealed the White House’s 2025 holiday decorations on Monday, themed “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” featuring traditional elements like 51 Christmas trees, 75 wreaths with red bows, and over 10,000 blue butterflies symbolizing transformation and renewal for foster care youth.
The elegant display, designed with stylist Hervé Pierre, highlights her “Be Best” initiative and America’s 250th anniversary, drawing praise for its patriotic and heartfelt touches amid renovations to the East Wing.

The installations incorporate over 25,000 feet of ribbon, 2,000 strands of lights, 700 feet of garland, 2,800 gold stars, and 120 pounds of gingerbread, with the Red Room’s blue butterflies paying tribute to the “Fostering the Future” program.
The Green Room features LEGO portraits of Presidents George Washington and Donald Trump, while the East Room nods to national symbols like eagles and the Declaration of Independence.

Dorrance Dance’s website promotes anti-racism resources, including support for Black Lives Matter and Showing Up for Racial Justice, fueling conservative backlash at the time.
