The media will never mind its own business. And now it demands an answer.
That’s why JD Vance broke down and commented on these marriage split rumors.
Second Couple Laughs Off Silly Ring Rumors
Vice President JD Vance brushed aside the latest tabloid chatter Friday, reaffirming that his marriage to Usha remains rock-solid—even when her wedding ring momentarily goes missing.
“We Kind of Get a Kick Out of It”
In a lighthearted NBC News interview from his West Wing office, Vance dismissed speculation about marital trouble as downright amusing.
“I think that we kind of get a kick out of it,” Vance said with a grin.
“With anything in life, you take the good with the bad,” he continued.
“You accept that there are some sacrifices and there are some very good things that come along with it, too. But our marriage is as strong as it’s ever been.”
Far from wilting under the spotlight, Usha has embraced her new role as second lady, Vance added.
“I think Usha’s really taken to it, and it’s been kind of cool to see how she’s developed and evolved in this new role,” he said.
The Non-Story That Wasn’t
The entire “controversy” started last month when Usha visited Camp Lejeune on November 19 and—gasp—appeared without her wedding band. Social media promptly declared the Vances doomed, with one viral post sneering, “No ring and she looks happy, almost relieved. Like a weight has been lifted.”
Reality, as usual, proved far more mundane.
“[She’s] a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes,” a spokesperson explained.
Married since 2014, JD and Usha are proudly raising Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel—and clearly enjoying the absurdity of having to clarify that a busy mom occasionally leaves the house without jewelry.
