Mace has been a staple of Republicans in Congress. But now she’s going off the rails.

And Nancy Mace is embroiled in a huge scandal after being caught doing this to cops.

Airport Fiasco: Mace’s Profane Outburst Over a Six-Minute Delay

A blistering internal probe by Charleston Airport Police has pinned the blame on Rep. Nancy Mace for transforming a trivial mix-up into a vulgar uproar, as she unleashed a torrent of expletives at TSA agents and officers during a chaotic October 30 escort gone awry.

The 47-year-old South Carolina Republican, eyeing the 2026 gubernatorial race, anticipated a swift police escort from the curb to her gate after arriving in a grey/silver BMW.

Instead, a harried supervisor skimmed an email and relayed the wrong vehicle color—expecting white—sparking a brief hiccup that ignited Mace’s fury, per the 10-page November 12 report from Chief James A. Woods.

High turnover in her office and reliance on the encrypted Signal app—unusual among other protected figures—only fueled the flames, the investigation noted. Despite the snag, Mace endured just six minutes at the TSA checkpoint amid the federal shutdown, when staff were already unpaid.

“Sick of Your S–t”: Lawmaker’s Tirade Leaves Staff “Visibly Upset”

Fresh off her drop-off, Mace was overheard on her phone griping that she “shouldn’t be waiting” and “this is always happening.” She escalated, snarling that “[GOP Sen.] Tim Scott [R-SC] would not be f–king treated this way” and demanding, “You need to go and get whoever, because I’m not going through your TSA line.”

Spotting the arriving officers, she pivoted her ire: “I’m sick of your s–t, I’m tired of having to wait. I should not have to wait. You guys are always [f–king] late, this is [f–king] ridiculous.” Witnesses described her as “very nasty [and] very rude,” hurling barbs like “f–king idiots” and “f–king incompetent” while touting her status as a “f–king representative.”

One TSA supervisor lamented the display as “very unbecoming if she’s representing us … in a political aspect,” with officers left “downgraded” and “downtrodden.” The report underscored a pattern: Despite repeated escort requests citing “multiple threats,” Mace’s team has “never provided” specifics, and she’s often vanished from stated locations, stranding responders.

Chief Woods summed it up starkly: “While it is clear that we hold a certain level of responsibility in miscommunicating the color of Congresswoman Mace’s vehicle, it’s also equally clear that her continued failure to follow established procedures at the checkpoint is what turned a minor miscommunication over the color of a vehicle into the spectacle that this issue has become for our employees and airport workers.”

Fallout Hits Gubernatorial Bid: Polls Plunge Amid Backlash

Mace’s camp spun the Monday report release as a “full exoneration,” with a spokesperson declaring: “We appreciate this full exoneration and look forward to remaining fully focused on the issues that actually matter to South Carolinians: affordability and law and order.”

But the episode drew swift condemnation from Sen. Tim Scott, who on November 4 distanced himself: “Those who know me know that I do not use profanity — in public or private. It is never acceptable to berate police officers, airport staff, and TSA agents who are simply doing their jobs, nor is it becoming of a Member of Congress to use such vulgar language when dealing with constituents.”

The timing couldn’t be worse for Mace, who entered the 2026 race as a frontrunner but has since threatened lawsuits against the airport, American Airlines, and staff over “fabricated” accounts—claims the probe directly refutes.

Pre-incident surveys pegged her at 18% in the GOP primary, nipping at Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette’s heels per RealClearPolitics averages. A November 24-26 Wick poll of 600 likely voters captured the damage: Mace cratered to 10.5%, trailing Attorney General Alan Wilson (22.2%), Evette (15.7%), and Rep. Ralph Norman (12%).
