It was yet another lazy Sunday morning when the corporate media machine at ABC rolled out its punching bag to smear President Donald Trump. Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, the ultimate symbol of faded establishment glory, slithered onto This Week to recycle his tired attacks.
This time, the target was Trump’s decisive leadership amid a government funding fight that puts real security ahead of endless handouts.
“And this is all happening as we have this shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, basically no funding for anything except for ICE. I mean, where is this going? What’s your sense,” host Jon Karl asked.
Christie jumped at the chance to play the wise elder, warning about airport headaches and painting Trump as some shortsighted operator.
He whined that summer travelers would soon face chaos and that a 2.5-hour line in Atlanta would spark public outrage. But his real shot came when he dismissed the President’s style entirely.
“But look what everyone is saying around the table here is an indication that the president plays checkers, not chess. This is a guy who just looks at what jump he can make today. Does it look if there’s a double jump coming in the other direction. So you do what you do with Iran. You know, think about what happens with the Strait of Hormuz.”
“You don’t think that what that’s going to force you to do to deal with gas prices that Donald just talked about is to relieve sanctions on Russia and Iran, who you’re going to war with?”
The RINO then doubled down on his favorite theme, claiming the whole mess proved something deeper about Trump’s team.
“I mean, the American people see this stuff. And my point on this chart is this goes to competence. It goes to, are you competent to run the government and make these decisions?”
“And every time one decision is made, another domino falls. And the president and the people around him are not considering those things.”
The media loves trotting out Christie because he feeds their anti-Trump narrative. Yet every time he opens his mouth, it reminds voters why they rejected the old GOP guard.
Trump beat him in the primaries for a reason. The people saw through the bluster and chose the fighter who puts citizens over special interests.
RINOs like Christie cling to their insider clubs while Trump drains the swamp one bold move at a time.
