This leftist’s career is over. And for good reason too.

Because a disgraced Democrat resigned in shame from Congress over this scandal.

California Democrat Eric Swalwell finally threw in the towel on his House seat Monday, bowing out after a torrent of s*xual assault claims shattered his dreams of running for governor.

The longtime swamp insider, who has spent years lecturing everyday Americans about morality while cozying up to the radical left, admitted the game was up in a carefully worded statement that reeked of damage control.

“I am deeply sorry to my family, staff, and constituents for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegation made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I did make,” Swalwell stated.

He then lashed out at calls to boot him from Congress right away, whining about fairness even as the walls closed in around his political career.

“I am aware of efforts to bring an immediate expulsion vote against me and other members. Expelling anyone in Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong. But it’s also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties,” he said.

“Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress. I will work with my staff in the coming days to ensure they are able, in my absence, to serve the needs of the good people of the 14th congressional district.”

This wasn’t some noble exit. Swalwell’s sudden departure came only after the scandals piled up so high that even his own party couldn’t shield him anymore.

Reports from CNN and the San Francisco Chronicle laid out the ugly details: a former staffer claimed Swalwell s*xually assaulted her after a night spent drinking, insisting she lacked the ability to consent.

Three more women, when speaking with CNN, described him bombarding them with unwanted n*de photos and crude texts.

The pressure built fast from inside Democrat circles and from the very aides who once worked under him.

Over fifty former staffers signed a blistering open letter demanding he face real consequences.

“The allegations reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN are serious, credible, and demand accountability,” the staffers said.

“We stand unequivocally with our colleague, who showed extraordinary courage in coming forward to share her truth. We believe her.”
