Republicans and Democrats don’t work together very well anymore. But this candidate wants to change that.
And a top GOP candidate revealed a plan to help Democrats.
In the wake of Abdul El-Sayed’s primary win, powered by Michigan’s radical leftist activists, Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers wasted little time making his case to Democrats who identify as moderate.
On Friday he dropped a direct video appeal aimed at those who feel abandoned by their own party’s latest choice.
Rogers spoke plainly to Democrats still reeling from the results.
“If you are among the majority of Democratic voters who woke up on Wednesday feeling well, hopeless, because the person who won does not represent your values then just know there is still hope,” he stated.
The message was clear: the primary outcome does not have to define the general election.
Rogers invited disillusioned voters to look past party labels and consider where their actual interests lie.
He also spoke to older Michiganders who have watched the state empty out.
“To Grandparents across Michigan who are heartbroken from watching their kids and grandkids leave this state, you have a home with us,” Rogers declared.
That line hits home in communities where factories closed, opportunities dried up, and younger generations packed up for better prospects elsewhere.
Rogers framed his campaign as a place where those families can finally find allies instead of lectures.
He also spoke to the next generation facing sky-high housing costs.
“To young people who are looking for real solutions to solve our housing affordability crisis, you have a home with us,” he continued.
“To working families who don’t want higher taxes and lower paychecks, well you have a home with us.”
Rogers saved his sharpest contrast for the closing invitation:
“And to the vast majority of people across Michigan who do not want to throw their support behind a campaign filled with anger, divisiveness, calls for violence, and the views that are out of touch with your values, then you have a home with us.”
