The former first lady is back on everyone’s radar. She’s not going away silently.
And Michelle Obama makes a stunning new announcement that has Republicans ripping their hair out.
Michelle Obama and Brother Craig Launch New Podcast Venture
Former First Lady Michelle Obama is stepping back into the spotlight with a new project alongside her brother, Craig Robinson. The duo is set to debut a weekly podcast called IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson, with its premiere slated for March 12, 2025.
Michelle Obama took to X to share the news, writing, “My brother @CraigMalRob and I are launching a podcast — @IMOpodcasts with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson! Along with experts and special guests, we’ll be discussing some of your questions. We hope you’ll check it out wherever you get your podcasts.”

In a statement, Michelle explained the podcast’s purpose: “With everything going on in the world, we’re all looking for answers and people to turn to. My brother Craig and I launched the IMOpodcast to create a space for people to come as they are, ask honest questions, give their opinions, and have thoughtful conversations about life. There is no single way to deal with the challenges we may be facing — whether it’s family, faith, or our personal relationships — but taking the time to open up and talk about these issues can provide hope.”
Craig Robinson, currently the executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, echoed his sister’s sentiments. “We grew up talking through life’s big and small questions together,” he said. “And now, we’re inviting listeners into that conversation, with the hope that it sparks new ideas, new perspectives, and creates the connection we could all use right now.”
A Look Into Michelle Obama’s Post-White House Career
Michelle Obama’s latest venture adds to an already impressive post-White House portfolio. She famously commanded a staggering fee of over $700,000 for a one-hour speech in Germany in September 2023. The event, tied to a start-up gathering near Munich’s iconic Oktoberfest, drew around 5,000 attendees.
Organizers billed her as the ultimate draw, with the event’s webpage highlighting her focus on overcoming self-doubt and championing inclusivity and diversity. “They really pulled out all the stops to get her,” a source told The Daily Mail. “It’s one of the highest fees that they have ever paid.”
The Obamas have been no strangers to big paydays since Barack Obama left office in 2017. The couple inked a jaw-dropping $65 million book deal with Penguin for their memoirs, and in 2018, they signed a multi-year production agreement with Netflix. The streaming giant’s co-CEO, Ted Sarandos, has been a vocal supporter of the Obamas, with his wife even serving as Barack Obama’s Ambassador to the Bahamas from 2009 to 2011.
These moves have solidified the Obamas’ status as power players in media and beyond—ironic, perhaps, given Barack’s 2018 remark: “There’s only so much you can eat. There’s only so big a house you can have. There’s only so many nice trips you can take. I mean, it’s enough.”
Democrats Eye Michelle Obama for 2028 Leadership
As Michelle Obama’s star continues to rise, whispers within the Democratic Party suggest she’s more than just a cultural icon—she could be the key to revitalizing the party’s future.
After a string of electoral setbacks and a perceived lack of dynamic leadership, many Democrats are growing desperate for a figure like Michelle to take the helm in 2028. Her popularity within the Democrat Party makes her an appealing prospect for a party searching for direction.
The IMO podcast could serve as a soft launch for a bigger political play, offering her a platform to test the waters and build momentum. While she’s repeatedly downplayed any interest in running for office, Democrats see her as a potential savior—a unifying force who could bridge divides and energize a weary base.
Whether Michelle Obama answers the call remains uncertain, but her every move is now watched with keen interest.
As 2028 looms, the clamor for her leadership is only likely to grow louder, with Democrats banking on her to reclaim the narrative and lead them into a new era. But it’s also a move that could potentially backfire and send them into another round of electoral defeats.
