Omar is a radical Leftist. She does not have America’s best interests in mind.
And Ilhan Omar’s congressional career is spiraling thanks to these atrocious comments.
In an effort to hold radical Democrats accountable, House Republican Buddy Carter from Georgia is pushing forward with a resolution to boot Rep. Ilhan Omar off her key committee spots. The Minnesota Democrat has come under fire for her tasteless remarks about the late Charlie Kirk, who was tragically assassinated last week.
Carter’s resolution targets Omar’s positions on the House Budget Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. This isn’t just about politics—it’s about standing up for decency after Kirk’s shocking death.
Omar holds a top spot as the leading Democrat on the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections within the education panel. But Republicans argue her recent comments make her unfit to serve in any capacity that influences American policy.
The push comes amid the ongoing outrage over Kirk’s m*rder during a speaking gig at a Utah college. Conservatives are fed up with left-wing figures who seem to brush off the tragedy or tie it to Kirk’s unapologetic right-wing stance.
GOP leaders have been quick to call out Democrats for downplaying the violence or suggesting Kirk somehow brought it on himself through his activism. It’s a pattern that’s got many on the right demanding real consequences.
Omar drew massive criticism from conservatives after her chat with the left-leaning outlet Zeteo. In the interview, she slammed Kirk’s history while hitting back at Republicans for twisting her words, even as she described his death as “mortifying.”
She explained to Zeteo that Kirk had “downplayed slavery and what Black people have gone through in this country by saying Juneteenth shouldn’t exist.”
“There are a lot of people who are out there talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate,” Omar said. “There is nothing more effed up, you know, like, than to completely pretend that, you know, his words and actions have not been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so.”
Omar didn’t stop there, blasting GOP voices for targeting Democrats’ language. She added, “These people are full of s—. And it’s important for us to call them out while we feel anger and sadness, and have, you know, empathy, which Charlie said, ‘No, it shouldn’t exist,’ because that’s a newly created word or something.”
“Like, I have empathy for his kids and his wife and what they’re going through,” Omar stated.
Facing the heat, Omar took to X to defend herself, posting: “While I disagreed with Charlie Kirk vehemently about his rhetoric, my heart breaks for his wife and children. I don’t wish violence on anyone. My faith teaches me the power of peace, empathy, and compassion.”
“Right-wing accounts trying to spin a false story when I condemned his m*rder multiple times is fitting for their agenda to villainize the left to hide from the fact that Donald Trump gins up hate on a daily basis.”
But Carter isn’t buying it. He told Fox News Digital, “Disparaging Charlie Kirk’s legacy, a God-fearing, honorable man, for boldly sharing his conservative beliefs is disgusting. The radical left has normalized meeting free speech with violence, and it must stop.”
“No one who justifies the assassination of someone with different political views than them deserves to sit on a committee, and Ilhan Omar openly used language that incites violence toward her political opponents. Committees are for serious lawmakers, not hate-spewing politicians,” he stated.
As Carter eyes a Senate run, he shares the Budget Committee with Omar, giving him a front-row seat to what he sees as her divisive antics. This resolution could shake up the House dynamics.
Efforts by Fox News Digital to get a response from Omar’s office went nowhere. It’s telling when silence speaks louder than words in the face of such serious accusations.
