In a brazen act of defiance that’s straight out of a leftist fever dream, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has just inked an executive order turning city property into no-go zones for federal immigration agents. This comes hot on the heels of President Trump’s smart move to send National Guard troops into Illinois to finally tackle the crime wave that’s been choking the Windy City for years. Johnson’s so-called “Protecting Chicago Initiative” isn’t about safety – it’s a full-throated rejection of any real effort to deport criminals and restore order.
Picture this: While everyday Chicagoans dodge bullets and break-ins, Johnson is busy shielding illegal immigrants from the long arm of the law. His order slams the door on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement using public spaces for operations, all in a pathetic bid to kneecap Trump’s deportation machine right in the heart of the Midwest.
“Today, we are signing an executive order aimed at reining in this out-of-control administration,” Johnson crowed at a Monday presser, as if Trump’s the villain for wanting to enforce federal law. “The order establishes ICE-free zones. That means that city property and unwilling private businesses will no longer serve as staging grounds for these raids.”
This isn’t just posturing; it’s a direct assault on the rule of law. Johnson’s playing right into the hands of open-borders radicals who think America’s sovereignty is optional. Meanwhile, Trump’s administration is stepping up because states like Illinois won’t – or can’t – handle their own messes.
But wait, it gets worse. Teaming up with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, that billionaire blue blood with White House dreams, Johnson slapped a lawsuit on the feds Monday. They’re trying to block those National Guard deployments that could actually make streets safer for working families tired of living in fear.
“The Trump administration must end the war on Chicago,” Johnson thundered, painting the president as some kind of tyrant for daring to fight crime. “The Trump administration must end this war against Americans. The Trump administration must end its attempt to dismantle our democracy.”
During the same rant, Johnson dragged history into the mud, claiming the “extreme right” can’t get over the Civil War’s end.
“They have repeatedly called for a rematch, but in the coming weeks, we will use this opportunity to build greater resistance. Chicagoans are clear that militarizing our troops in our city as justification to further escalate a war in Chicago will not be tolerated,” he spat out.
“The right wing in this country wants a rematch of the Civil War,” Johnson doubled down, proving once again that when facts fail, the left resorts to wild-eyed conspiracy theories. This isn’t leadership; it’s a tantrum from a mayor who’s more activist than administrator.
Johnson’s decree demands that city departments scour their properties in the next five days, slapping up warnings for ICE to stay away. No staging areas, no processing spots – nothing. It’s a recipe for chaos, inviting more lawlessness under the guise of “rights.”
“With this executive order, Chicago stands firm in protecting the constitutional rights of our residents and immigrant communities and upholding our democracy,” Johnson declared, as if deporting threats to public safety violates the Constitution.
And if ICE dares to push back? Johnson’s got lawyers on speed dial. “If the federal government violates this executive order, we will take them to court,” he warned, capping it off with a plea to Trump: leave Chicago “the freak alone.”
Enter Governor Pritzker, the trust-fund socialist eyeing a 2028 run, who kicked off this circus Sunday by flat-out refusing Trump’s call to mobilize state troops. He branded it an “ultimatum,” then escalated to outright hysteria.
“We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s invasion,” Pritzker whined, as if securing the homeland is some foreign occupation. When he balked, Texas Governor Greg Abbott – a true patriot – stepped in, greenlighting 400 Lone Star National Guard troops to Illinois and Oregon.
The White House torched Pritzker for his grandstanding. Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson laid it out plain on Fox News: “Chicago is descending into lawlessness and chaos because this slob cares more about boosting his anti-Trump creds on X than he does about making his city safe.”
“Pritzker should be ashamed of himself,” she added, and she’s spot on. This duo of Johnson and Pritzker isn’t fighting for Chicagoans; they’re fighting for their own egos and the radical left’s agenda.
As Trump rolls out his deportation push, stories like this one fuel the fire for why America needs strong leadership at every level. Chicago’s meltdown isn’t isolated; it’s the blueprint for every sanctuary city betting on amnesty over accountability.
