Tom Homan, the no-nonsense White House border czar, didn’t back down when a loudmouth heckler tried to derail his speech at a Turning Point USA event on the University of Texas at El Paso campus. Standing firm against the insults, Homan showed exactly why he’s the man for the job in securing America’s borders.
The incident unfolded Thursday night as Homan addressed the crowd. Out of nowhere, the agitator shouted accusations, branding him a “racist” and a “traitor.” But Homan, a veteran of border enforcement, brushed it off like dust on his boots.
“Call me what you want, I don’t care,” Homan fired back, refusing to let the taunts rattle him. He then turned the tables, challenging the critic to step up and see the real dangers firsthand.
“Why don’t you grow a backbone, put a Kevlar vest and a gun on your hip and go secure this border?” Homan said.
Things heated up further during the Q&A session. The same guy, or someone who looked just like him, stepped to the mic and tried to pin the blame for a horrific tragedy on Homan’s tough stance against illegal immigration.
“Patrick Crusius, your everyday conservative, drove hundreds of miles to our city based on your belief that Hispanics are replacing the white race of white people and we need a scare to deter Hispanics from coming into the country,” the man claimed.
For those who need a reminder, Crusius is the 27-year-old monster now rotting in prison with a life sentence for the August 3, 2019, massacre at a local Walmart. That attack claimed 23 lives and left 22 others injured, with most victims being Hispanic Americans going about their day.
Homan didn’t let the wild accusation stand unchallenged. He set the record straight on his actual words, emphasizing that his criticism has always targeted the disastrous policies allowing unchecked border crossings.
“What I said was, the open border was an action, was a mess, and it was by design,” Homan said, cutting through the nonsense and redirecting focus to the real culprits behind the crisis.
This isn’t the first time Homan has called out the failures at the top. Back in June, during an interview on Pod Force One with the New York Post’s Miranda Devine, he exposed the Biden crew’s true motives for letting the floodgates swing wide open.
“They wanted to overwhelm the system … because they knew it’d be millions of people that they thought would be in their corner in the future,” Homan explained.
He didn’t stop there, hammering home the point that no sane leader would sabotage their own nation’s security without an ulterior motive. “There is no other reason why you would open a border. There’s no downside on a secured border. There’s only one reason you would do this: Because you saw a future political benefit in doing it.”
Under Biden’s watch, the invasion was relentless. Millions of illegal migrants surged across, and instead of turning them back, the administration released them into communities, dumping them into an immigration court system that’s jammed up worse than rush-hour traffic.
But change came swift when President Trump reclaimed the Oval Office. On day one, January 20, his team slammed the brakes on the infamous “catch-and-release” scam, starting mass expulsions of those who crossed unlawfully.
Homan, with decades of experience, put it in perspective during that June chat. “I’ve worked for six presidents, starting with Ronald Reagan,” he said, recalling a time when even Democrats pretended to care about borders.
“Every president I ever worked for took steps to secure the border. Even [Bill] Clinton, [Barack] Obama, took some steps. No one was more successful than President Trump. His success was unprecedented.”
“But Joe Biden, I’ve said this many times, Joe Biden is the first president in the history of this nation who came in office and unsecured a border on purpose,” Homan continued.
“They opened it, they meant to open it, and knew exactly what they were doing.” His words ring true for anyone who’s seen the damage firsthand—from rising crime to strained resources in American towns.
