RINOs have become too prominent in the GOP. Many Republican voters are trying to weed them out.
And this top RINO suffered a defeat that could end their career.
In a stunning victory for everyday Texans, Rep. Dan Crenshaw has been booted from Congress after voters in the Lone Star State’s 2nd District rejected his bid for a fifth term.
The former Navy SEAL, who entered the House back in 2019, watched his political career crumble Tuesday night as challenger Steve Toth claimed a decisive win.
Businessman and state representative Steve Toth emerged as the fighter Texans demanded. With roughly three-fourths of the ballots tallied, Toth captured 58 percent of the vote compared to Crenshaw’s 40 percent. The Associated Press called the race in Toth’s favor at 1 in the morning eastern time.
President Trump wisely kept his powder dry and refused to back Crenshaw in this contest. In fact, the Texas congressman was the lone House Republican in the state seeking re-election without earning the president’s crucial endorsement.
That absence spoke volumes about where Crenshaw stood with the base, and voters noticed.
Sen. Ted Cruz stepped up at the perfect moment to rally behind the right man.
Just last week, the senator threw his full weight behind Toth in a powerful show of support that helped tip the scales. Cruz made no bones about why Toth deserved the nod over the incumbent.
“Steve is an unwavering fighter for school choice, fiscal responsibility, and the next generation of Americans,” Cruz said in a post on X.
“Washington needs bold leadership and representatives who will stand up for Texans at every turn.”
“Steve has the experience, the courage, and the conviction to do just that.”
Crenshaw tried to play the victim card as polls closed, blaming everyone but himself for the mounting pressure.
“You know, my enemies have all come out with their knives — Tucker Carlson or Ted Cruz — for no good reason,” Crenshaw said to Fox News.
