Pete Hegseth isn’t well liked by the left. In fact, they can’t stand anyone who’s part of the Trump admin.
And Hegseth was attacked with a disgusting insult from this Democrat leader.
In yet another display of partisan hysteria, a prominent Democrat congressman has attacked President Trump and his defense secretary with insults that belong in the schoolyard rather than serious policy debate.
During his appearance Thursday on MS NOW’s All In, Rep. Jim McGovern of Massachusetts unleashed a blistering assault on the current administration’s approach to the Iran situation.
The lawmaker reserved his sharpest barbs for the top officials guiding America’s response:
“Donald Trump doesn’t know what the h*ll he’s doing, and the people around him don’t as well. So as we are talking right now, we 13 American service members have been k*lled, hundreds have been wounded. You know, we have, you know, civilians have been k*lled, Iranian civilians, Lebanese civilians. I mean, this is this is a mess.”
“And, nobody knows what the h*ll they’re doing. And and quite frankly, we should not even be in this predicament to begin with. I mean, don’t forget, the Straits of Hormuz are now closed. We’re trying to get them open, but they were open before Donald Trump decided to use U.S. military to get involved in this thing.”
Such claims ignore the dangerous provocations from the Iranian regime that forced America’s hand.
For too long, weak policies allowed Tehran to expand its influence and threaten key waterways essential for energy security.
President Trump acted to protect American interests and prevent worse chaos down the road.
McGovern pressed on with his criticism, insisting on the need for different leadership.
“We need we need smarter, cooler heads to prevail here. We need people who know about the region, who know about Iran, who know how to figure out a way to get beyond this because, quite frankly, we’re in a mess that is our own creation,” he said.
“And shame on Donald Trump, shame on Pete Hegseth. I mean, you know, these people are I mean, kind of are weapons-grade stupid, if you will. That’s the only way I can describe their behavior to get us into this mess that we’re in right now.”
This defeatist attitude from McGovern exposes the left’s preference for retreat over resolve.
True leaders do not apologize for defending the homeland against radical Islamic threats.
The deaths mentioned are heartbreaking, yet they stem from enemies who view restraint as invitation to attack.
Secretary Hegseth brings the kind of experienced toughness needed to confront these challenges head on.
