Newsom has been considered a darling of the left. But that may be ending.

Because leftists have turned on Newsom for this insane reason.

California Governor Gavin Newsom boasted about his latest budget triumph in a post on X, painting himself as the savior of fiscal sanity while lashing out at President Trump and Republicans.

Newsom claimed he obtained a win with what he called a “balanced budget that wipes out the deficit this year AND next — while protecting health care and safety nets.”

He added, “Meanwhile, Trump ADDED $2.4 TRILLION to the federal deficit with his ‘Big Beautiful Betrayal.’ Republicans ruin budgets. Democrats balance them.”

Yet even his own liberal allies are turning on him fast.

The so-called “May Revision” that Newsom hyped as full of grand spending plans has instead delivered painful retreats and slashed promises.

The governor once vowed his budget would deliver massive new funding for “child care, schools, higher education, public safety, healthcare, housing, clean energy, new businesses, and the protection of our state’s natural resources.”

Reality hit hard when key cuts emerged, sparking fury from the very groups that cheered his progressive agenda.

Teachers’ unions and school board officials flooded the state Capitol with protests over education funding reductions.

The hypocrisy runs deep here. This is the same Gavin Newsom admin who sued the Trump administration for cutting what they called an “unlawful decision to terminate $1.2 billion in funding for congressionally mandated energy and infrastructure programs.”

Now the governor is pulling similar strings in his own backyard.

Newsom’s desperate attempt to claim victory while dodging his own failures reveals the deeper rot in Democratic strongholds.

As the budget battle heats up, one thing remains clear: California’s experiment in unchecked progressive power continues to fail the people it claims to champion.

Taxpayers and families across the state are paying the price for years of arrogance and mismanagement.

The question now is whether Sacramento will finally learn, or if more pain lies ahead.
