The hits keep on coming for this politician. He can’t seem to catch a break.

And this top Republican is in danger of being kicked out of office after this latest attack.

Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has had quite an eventful autumn.

In October he was ousted as speaker in an effort led by U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

And now, he’s in danger of losing his congressional seat after a Republican in California has launched a campaign to primary him.

David Giglio, a businessman and Donald Trump supporter, announced his decision to launch a campaign for U.S. House and McCarthy’s seat.

Giglio has promised to work with Trump to “WAGE WAR against the corrupt uniparty,” in Washington, D.C.

“Kevin McCarthy has failed the American people. I am excited to announce my campaign to defeat Kevin McCarthy in California’s 20th Congressional District,” Giglio said.

“After years of being sold out to special interests, the people of the Central Valley deserve an America First Republican fighting for them in Washington.”

The California businessman expressed how he approved of the eight Republicans who voted to remove McCarthy has House speaker.

He even labeled the Republican legislators as “courageous,” and blasted McCarthy for working alongside Joe Biden and the Left.

“Now more than ever, it is imperative that we replace career politicians and elect America First Republicans who will secure the southern border, stop the weaponization of government, drain the corrupt swamp, and annihilate permanent Washington,” Giglio continued.

Earlier in October, Rep. McCarthy declared his intentions to run for reelection for his congressional seat.

This decision has been made despite McCarthy being ousted from the gavel.

However, Giglio still faces a longshot bid to primary McCarthy, because the of the current congressman’s status in the state of California.

That won’t stop him from gaining the support of Trump’s supporters in the district.

He’ll also likely be supported by the eight Republicans who helped oust McCarthy as speaker.
