The 2024 election is a little over a year away. But the surprises are already coming.

And Mitt Romney makes a surprise announcement that leaves everyone stunned.

Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) has been in the thorn in Republicans’ sides for years now.

His RINO-like stance on many key issues has frustrated the Party, as well as him being known to have a “Never-Trump” approach on things.

Romney announced in September that he wouldn’t be seeking reelection for his Senate seat in 2024.

But that isn’t stopping him from going on a retirement tour where he’s quick to bash members of his own party.

In a new memoir titled, Romney: A Reckoning, author McKay Coppins details Romney’s disdain for Republicans like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former President Donald Trump, and Senator Josh Hawley (MO).

And now, Coppins has come out saying that the Senator from Utah may come out with an endorsement of President Joe Biden.

“I would keep an eye out for whether Romney does something like endorse Joe Biden late in the election,” Coppins said on The Press Box podcast.

“I mean, I have no idea. I haven’t talked to him about this. I would not be shocked if he did.”

Coppins has also said that there is “no way,” Romney endorses Donald Trump in 2024.

“He thinks that the Republican Party has lost all its way,” Coppins continued.

“He feels like there’s no way he could, he could really support somebody like Donald Trump.”

Endorsing Biden would be a “tricky thing” though, according to Coppins, because Romney is “still a conservative.”

But based off the senator’s recent actions, it wouldn’t be surprising at all for him to announce his support of President Biden.

And it wouldn’t be surprising if he were to do it in spite of Trump.

This announcement from Coppins comes in the wake of reports that Mitt Romney and Oprah Winfrey were reportedly going to launch a unity ticket together in the 2020 election “to save the country.”

Winfrey’s spokesperson denied the claim, saying she never intended to join Romney’s third party campaign, but it’s another instance of the senator doing everything in his power to stop Trump from winning a second term.

We’ll have to wait and see though if Joe Biden ends up getting an endorsement from Mitt Romney as the 2024 presidential election inches closer.
