New York Attorney General Letitia James has been under heavy fire in recent months. But people were still shocked when this happened.
And Letitia James was attacked during a recent speaking engagement.
New York Attorney General Letitia James encountered a tough audience when she spoke at a celebration for the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) on Thursday.
The ceremony also highlighted the swearing-in of Rev. Pamela Holmes who was acclaimed as the first African-American woman chaplain of the FDNY.
When the Democratic prosecutor entered the stage for the first responders’ swearing-in ceremony, Fox News reported that she was greeted with jeers.
James said, “Oh, c’mon, we’re in a house of God,” perhaps trying to muffle the jeers. “Simmer down.”
James’ address was cut short as the jeers continued and shouts of “Trump! Trump! Trump!” could be heard.

Following James’ speech, FDNY Chief John Hodgens chastised audience members who expressed contempt for the attorney general.
“Today’s ceremony was about one thing: the accomplishments of the members being promoted,” he said.
“The members whose behavior distracted from that celebration were an embarrassment and not befitting of the world’s best fire department.”
James recently applauded Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling against former President Donald Trump, directing him to pay a $454 million fine, along with interest, in the attorney general’s office’s civil business fraud lawsuit.
After campaigning on a platform of taking on Trump, James filed the lawsuit, branding the former president as a “carnival barker” and a “con man.”
The amount that Trump and the other defendants owed after the judgment was announced on social media by the AG as “$464,576,230.62.” This followed Engoron’s decision to support James in the civil business fraud case against Trump.
Many saw her remark on social media as a jab at the front-runner Republican for president, and she responded with other tweets that showed the interest that Trump was piling up and owed with each day that passed.
A few days following Engoron’s decision, Trump filed an appeal of the significant civil business fraud judgment, claiming the judge had “committed errors of law and/or fact,” abused his discretion, or “acted in excess” of his authority.
James’ brief to the panel is due on March 11 and Trump’s response is due on March 18. The matter will be heard by the appeals court in the coming days.
Throughout the legal proceedings, the former president has insisted that neither he nor his company committed any wrongdoing and that his assets had even been undervalued.
