There’s been a lot of talk about Michelle Obama and the 2024 election. Now the picture is coming into focus.
Because this Michelle Obama 2024 election news has Joe Biden in a total panic.
When Joe Biden assumed office back in January 2021, many believed that it would be impossible for him to make it to a second term in the Oval Office given his advancing age and, more importantly, declining mental health.
A few years later now, it seems as though we’re headed for a rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden that no one thought would happen when the dust of the 2020 presidential election had settled.
Over the past twelve months or so, there’s been a ton of discussion of the possibility of Joe Biden being replaced as the Democrat nominee. Many names were brought up as potential replacements including California Governor Gavin Newsom as well as former First Lady Michelle Obama.
In recent news, Michelle Obama made it clear that she is not going to be running for president whatsoever.
She’s throwing her support behind the unpopular incumbent Joe Biden and his return running mate Kamala Harris.
Interestingly, even after this news, Michelle Obama is still polling much better than Joe Biden in hypothetical 2024 presidential election scenarios.
A recent Redfield and Wilton Strategies survey demonstrated that former First Lady Michelle Obama currently carries 75% of the support of those who voted for Joe Biden back in 2020.
Newsmax reports:
Michelle Obama not only gets 75% support among those who voted for Biden in 2020, she also gets 21% of those who voted for former President Donald Trump in the past presidential election, according to the Redfield and Wilton Strategies poll conducted for Newsweek.
Not only that, but the survey also demonstrated that almost half of Joe Biden’s 2020 voters believe that he needs to end his campaign as soon as possible to allow for an alternative to step in instead.
“Also, 45% of those polled support Biden ending his presidential campaign,” the survey report reads.
Interestingly, even though a majority of Joe Biden’s supporters would support someone like Michelle Obama in Biden’s stead, in a hypothetical scenario where Joe Biden was to step aside, there’s no runner-up.
No alternative Democrat option is able to capture more than around 20% of the support of the Democrat voting base assuming Joe Biden was not in the picture at all.
All of this just goes to show how fractured the Democrat Party is. It’s simply true that the Democrats don’t really want Joe Biden to be the nominee in 2024, but they feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Tossing aside a party incumbent is extremely rare and would likely ruffle feathers amongst the Democrat establishment and the American voters at large. It would prove to American voters that they never cared about Joe Biden at all and just wanted to throw him away as soon as it was politically convenient.
On the flip side, they seem to be sticking with Joe Biden as the “only person” who could beat Donald Trump in a November 2024 election. That’s legitimately what they believe despite evidence proving otherwise.
Yes, Joe Biden “won” in 2020. But the factors are completely different today. Dozens upon dozens of national surveys are showing that Donald Trump is up over Joe Biden by upwards of four points.
That’s just a prediction of the popular vote. Even a tie in a popular vote likely means Donald Trump wins the electoral college.
