Because now Supreme Court Justices have been attacked by this truly unhinged Democrat in Congress.
No matter what political persuasion you come from, there’s one thing the vast majority of Americans can agree about and that’s the reality that politics is getting too heated and too partisan.
Americans can no longer come together to agree about basic fundamentals of American society that will bring them together despite differences of opinions. What keeps the fabric of a functioning society is under a constant brutal barrage.
It used to be that Americans could generally agree that the U.S. constitution is one of the best documents to put forward a plan for a successful democratic republic that’s ever been made. Defending the integrity of the institutions of the United States wasn’t controversial. There’s always improvement, no doubt. Debate about how best to operate within American institutions has always been welcome.
The problem, though, is now there’s blatant attacks on the institutions themselves. Particularly on the part of the radical Left. They do this when they don’t get their way.
Take a look at the U.S. Supreme Court. For decades, the Left was getting their way with extremely favorable rulings left and right. Yet, when Donald Trump saw all three of his nominations for the U.S. Supreme Court bench confirmed, that all changed. The radical Left knew this would change, and that’s why they fought tooth and nail to find anything that would disqualify Brett Kavanaugh from serving on the High Court back in 2018. The extent to which they would go included propagandizing phony claims of a s*xual assault from decades ago that is just now being made.
As soon as conservatives had a real conservative majority on the Supreme Court bench, Democrats lost their minds. Just consider how Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) quite literally threatened the Supreme Court justices if they would dare overturn Roe v. Wade, which the Supreme Court eventually did.
Today, Democrats continue to foam at the mouth that their unholy shrine of Roe v. Wade has been struck down with the arrival of the Dobbs decision of June 2022. For decades even liberal legal experts agreed that Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided back in 1973, but the radical “progressives” don’t care. They just love that it ensured their right to murder babies in most states throughout the country.
In fact, one Democrat in Congress has now accused the Supreme Court of a horrible crime: the crime of tyranny. The tyranny of so-called “subjugation of women” with the overturning of Roe v. Wade nearly two years ago.
Democrat House Representative from Pennsylvania Mary Gay Scanlon said during a subcommittee hearing this week that the GOP and the Supreme Court are trying to “subjugate women” by forcing “religious beliefs” on others. The hearing was originally about the real tyranny that was abused during the 2020 pandemic panic by unelected officials to control Americans. But this Democrat wanted to make sure she shot her shot in the direction of the Supreme Court Justices.
“You can’t have a hearing about tyranny without acknowledging that a person being denied medical care because of someone else’s political or religious beliefs is certainly an exercise of tyranny,” Scanlon said during the hearing.
“Since the Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade two years ago, state legislatures nationwide have passed laws that threaten women’s reproductive health care with medically unnecessary restrictions,” the Pennsylvania Democrat added.
She went on to say that the ruling from the Supreme Court was “misguided” and took rights away of women, which it didn’t technically do. It merely sent the issue back to the states, which is a completely reasonable thing to do given that the tenets of Roe v. Wade’s federalization of the issue has been heavily criticized by legal experts for decades.
“To be clear, the Supreme Court’s misguided Dobbs decision did not take away a woman’s underlying right to the freedom to make our own reproductive healthcare decisions, but it did take away important legal protection,” Democrat Representative Scanlon added.
The Left’s attacks on the legitimacy of the U.S. Supreme Court as an institution that can act independent of any political influence is absolutely insane, and it’s a real attack on the future of democracy in America.
The Democrats love to claim that Donald Trump is a dictator who wants to literally rid the nation of any vestige of democracy by the time he’s done with a second term in office. Hilariously, they ignore the fact that he left office in peace the first time around. If he was trying to assume control of the federal government back during his first term, boy he did an awful job of doing so. Donald Trump is apparently the worst dictator ever in history!
Accusing the U.S. Supreme Court of being tyrannical and misguided just because you didn’t get your way is the real attack on democracy.
Predictably, she defended the actions unelected “health” officials took during the 2020 pandemic panic. Those weren’t tyrannical at all. Telling kids who weren’t at risk of serious virus consequences that they couldn’t go to school wasn’t tyrannical at all, in her opinion. Forcing individuals to get vaccines before they could go back to work wasn’t tyrannical at all, in her opinion.
But the court system working the way it’s intended to work is, apparently. The Left might have democracy and tyranny mixed up. That would explain a lot.
