Lawyers don’t have any good news for Hunter. He’s in serious trouble after the latest rumors.

And Hunter Biden’s even losing sleep after this big jury update hit the papers.

In a high-profile case that has gripped the nation, Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, is currently standing trial in Delaware on federal firearms charges. The trial, which began last week, is the culmination of a lengthy investigation that also includes tax-related charges.

According to a Washington Post report from October 2022, federal agents had determined months earlier that they had sufficient evidence to charge Biden with crimes related to making false declarations during a gun purchase and tax-related offenses. On September 14, 2023, a special counsel in Delaware indicted Biden on three federal firearms-related charges, specifically for possessing a gun for about 11 days while knowing he was a drug user

Later, on December 7, 2023, the special counsel levied nine additional counts of tax-related charges, including tax evasion. Biden has pleaded not guilty to both the tax and gun charges.

Hunter Biden’s Legal Battle: Gun and Tax Charges on Trial

The ongoing trial in Delaware’s federal court focuses on the gun charges. Jurors have been presented with emotional testimony from Biden’s former romantic partners, personal text messages, and photos allegedly showing him with illicit drugs. In closing arguments, the prosecutor urged jurors to concentrate on the “overwhelming” evidence against Biden, disregarding the presence of the president’s family members in the courtroom, including First Lady Jill Biden.

Legal experts have weighed in on the trial. MSNBC legal analyst Barbara McQuade stated on The Saturday Show with Jonathan Capehart that there is ample evidence for a jury to find Biden guilty.

She noted, “Proving a defendant’s intent and knowledge and mindset is always the hardest thing for a prosecutor because you can’t read another person’s mind.” However, she added, “it seems like there’s plenty of evidence there from which they could draw that inference. So probably a bit of an uphill battle for the defense.”

Criminal defense attorney Bernarda Villalona advised Biden to plead guilty, saying Special Counsel David Weiss’ evidence against him is “strong” and that it may be his “best” course of action to “avoid” incarceration. George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley commented that it was “really astonishing” how rapidly Biden’s defenses have “collapsed” during the trial.

The gun case took an unexpected turn last summer when a plea deal between Biden and prosecutors fell apart after the judge, a Trump appointee, raised concerns. If convicted on the gun charges, Biden could face up to 25 years in prison, although “first-time offenders do not get anywhere near the maximum, and it’s unclear whether the judge would give him time behind bars.”

In addition to the gun trial, Biden is also scheduled to face trial on September 5, 2024, in California for tax charges. The legal challenges facing the president’s son have drawn national attention and sparked debates about privilege, addiction, and the fairness of the justice system.

As the trial progresses, all eyes remain on Delaware, where the jury’s decision could have far-reaching implications for Hunter Biden and his family. The outcome of this case may also influence public perception as the nation heads towards the 2024 presidential election.

Political commentators are skeptical that Hunter Biden is going to get served the justice that many believe he is deserving of, primarily because the jury was selected from an extremely pro-Democrat and pro-Biden district.

One of the founders of the Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro, recently said on his show that “Hunter is likely going to get off the hook for clearly violating federal law,” lamenting that the justice system isn’t actually fair.

Former Republican candidate for president, Vivek Ramaswamy, says that he believes that the Hunter Biden trial is a “distraction” to keep the heat off of Hunter’s father Joe Biden who is seriously struggling in the polls for the 2024 election.
