Many Americans are concerned about the commander-in-chief. They don’t know if he’s truly all there.
And now MSNBC released damaging Joe Biden health news that could flip 2024 upside down.
Elise Jordan, an MSNBC political analyst, warned that President Biden cannot afford a “senior moment” in next week’s presidential debate against former President Donald Trump.
Jordan mentioned many Democratic voters she spoke with recently on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Friday, saying they are most concerned about Biden appearing “up to the task” during the matchup.
“He absolutely cannot have a senior moment at this debate,” the analyst declared, noting that Biden’s age is a top concern among his own voters.
Liberal voters’ concerns about Biden’s age surfaced as the MSNBC panel, which featured Jordan, show host Jonathan Lemire, and columnist Eugene Robinson, addressed the approved rules and structure for CNN’s next 90-minute debate on June 27.
After the panel discussed the coin flip that resulted in Biden choosing which podium to debate from and Trump receiving the final statement in the match-up, as well as other details, Jordan jumped in with what Democratic voters in Wisconsin and Michigan wanted to see from the debate.
“Well, the Biden campaign needs to set the narrative early that Biden is competent and capable of leading going forward,” the commentator remarked, before following up with her “senior moment” comment.
“I was in Wisconsin and Michigan two weeks ago for a lot of focus groups, and what I heard from voters, Democrats who support Biden, is just that they’re going to be watching and they want to make sure that he’s up to the task,” she added.
She said Democrats she spoke with are still inclined to support him, but are concerned about his age.
“And it really is an albatross that is hanging around this candidate and campaign,” Jordan pointed out.
During a recent CNN interview, network pundit Van Jones emphasized that Biden must show himself in this debate, or it will be “game over.”
“This is the entire election, as far as I’m concerned. The entire world will be watching,” Jones told CNN host Jim Acosta on Thursday.
“If you are a carbon-based life form, you’re going to be watching. If you’ve got a functioning brain stem, you’re going to be watching.”
“Because if Biden goes out there and messes up, it’s game over. If he walks out there and a week later he’s lower in the polls, it’s panic in the party,” he continued.
“But if he goes in there and he can handle himself against Donald Trump — a runaway train, a locomotive, a raging bull — then this guy deserves another shot to be president, because that is tough.”
An issue if Biden comes out swinging is that there is no telling whether he could’ve been pumped full of pharmaceuticals to help him.
Just last month Trump said he wanted a drug test for Biden after each debate to prevent such a measure.
“I’m gonna demand a drug test too, by the way,” Trump said at the Minnesota Republican Party’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner.
“I am, no I really am. I don’t want him coming in like the State of the Union, he was high as a kite.”
Whether that will actually materialize is yet to be seen, but as far as it goes, there has been no confirmation.
