And the Pentagon is on high alert after Vladimir Putin leveled this wild threat.

The Blame Game Continues

Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to deflect blame onto the West as his forces struggle to suppress Ukrainian resistance.

Despite his bravado, Putin’s finger-pointing is starting to wear thin.

Addressing regional governors and defense officials on Monday, Putin claimed that the Ukrainian military’s operations in the Kursk region wouldn’t derail negotiations.

“The West is fighting us with the hands of the Ukrainians,” he insisted, according to The New York Times, retreating to his usual narrative of Western conspiracy.

But his threats are starting to ring hollow.

“The enemy will certainly get the response he deserves, and all our goals, without doubt, will be accomplished,” Putin vowed, though the string of Ukrainian incursions into the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions last week paints a different picture — one of a Russian military that is increasingly on the back foot.

The recent attacks have exposed serious flaws in Russia’s military command, from intelligence failures to tactical blunders, raising questions about Putin’s leadership.

“One of the obvious goals of the enemy is to sow discord, strife, intimidate people, destroy the unity and cohesion of Russian society,” Putin lamented during a televised meeting, according to the Moscow Times.

But the chaos he describes seems more a reflection of his own government’s unraveling.

The Ukrainian Strategy

As Ukrainian forces continue to exploit Russian weaknesses with unconventional tactics, experts suggest this is a deliberate strategy to unsettle the Kremlin.

“Given the significant disparity of combat potential favoring Russia on the battlefield, Ukrainian forces appear to be switching to, or at minimum, intensifying, unconventional warfare, bringing war deeper into Russia,” Rebekah Koffler, a strategic military intelligence analyst, told Fox News Digital.

Koffler further noted that with the latest bold move into Kursk, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy might be sending a clear message: as long as Russia continues its aggression, there will be no peace for the Russian people.

Kyiv’s strategy seems aimed not only at bolstering its position in any future negotiations but also at shaking Putin’s resolve.

The impact on Russian civilians is undeniable — around 121,000 people have already fled the Kursk region, with residents from neighboring districts also joining the exodus.

Meanwhile, Ukraine, backed by tens of billions of dollars in Western aid, continues to push back against Russian expansion, turning what Putin once thought would be a swift victory into a protracted and humiliating quagmire.
