The 2024 race is shaping up to be the most unexpected one in recent memory. Nothing is beyond the pale.
And now Kamala Harris is melting down after this former Democrat joined forces with Donald Trump.
Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii and a bold voice for common sense, made it clear during an interview with Fox News Digital that she would “be honored to serve” in a future Trump administration.
This marks another significant step in her break from the Democratic Party and her alignment with a more America-first agenda, one that prioritizes peace, security, and independence from the military-industrial complex.
If chosen, Gabbard expressed a strong desire to serve in areas where she can make the most impact, specifically in foreign policy and national security — two domains where she has both the experience and vision to drive real change.
As a military veteran with two tours in the Middle East and now serving as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, she brings the kind of leadership that understands the true costs of war.
“I feel I can make the most impact in these areas of national security and foreign policy, and work to bring about the changes that President Trump talks about,” Gabbard said from a campaign event in Atlanta, Georgia.
Her alignment with Trump’s policies underscores her belief in ending needless wars and focusing on what matters most — protecting American interests and avoiding global conflicts.
Ending “the influence of the military-industrial complex,” avoiding World War III, and steering the U.S. away “from the brink of nuclear war” would be her top priorities.
Gabbard has long emphasized that war should only be a “last resort,” a stance that resonates with Trump’s America-first foreign policy, which seeks to disengage from endless wars and focus on diplomacy.
Gabbard has been one of the few outspoken voices in support of Trump’s plans to end the war in Ukraine, understanding that a prolonged conflict only risks dragging the U.S. into more chaos and destruction.
Her approach stands in stark contrast to the warmongering mindset prevalent in the current administration.
Once a rising star in the Democratic Party and a vice chair of the DNC, Gabbard supported progressive figures like Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.
However, her disillusionment with the radical shift in her former party led her to sever ties.
Now, she’s found common ground with Republicans, culminating in her decision to join Trump’s transition team last month.
“There are a lot of people who I meet in a lot of different places every day who are former Democrats, or people who are leaving the Democratic Party,” Gabbard said.
“People who recognize the same things that I have and experienced the same things that I have and realize that the Democratic Party of today doesn’t stand for them, doesn’t stand for freedom, it doesn’t stand for civil liberties… doesn’t stand for peace.”
Gabbard has not been shy about calling out Vice President Kamala Harris and the current administration for their reckless foreign policy decisions.
On Monday, she slammed Harris and other Democrats for their refusal to engage in real diplomacy with adversaries — something Trump excelled at during his time in office.
“President Trump did in his last administration what President Obama refused to do, what President Biden refused to do, what Kamala Harris has made clear she refuses to do — go out and do that tough work that a president and commander in chief has to do in diplomacy,” Gabbard explained.
“Not just hanging out with your friends, and your allies, and your partners, but actually going out and talking to your adversaries.”
Gabbard understands that peace will never be achieved if our leaders refuse to engage in the tough conversations with America’s enemies.
It’s a stark contrast to the weak leadership we see today, particularly from Kamala Harris, who seems more interested in posturing than in securing a lasting peace.
The congresswoman didn’t hold back in her criticism of Harris, especially when it comes to the escalating war in Ukraine.
“The longer this war goes on and the more that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and the neocons of Washington continue to escalate this war, the greater risk we are of a potential nuclear war, World War III,” Gabbard warned.
She added that Harris’ approach is “unconscionable” and slammed her for being “flippant” about the very real threat of nuclear disaster.
Gabbard’s sharp criticisms and her willingness to serve in a Trump administration make one thing clear: She’s committed to real change, focused on peace and security, and stands ready to work with Trump to put America back on the right track.
