The Democrat Party is in shambles. Their worst nightmare is coming true.

Because this U.S. Senate news is sending shockwaves throughout the Democrat Party.

The Rust Belt is giving the Democrat Party troubles. The Democrats were banking on the Rust Belt to give them not only wins for Kamala Harris, but also wins for their U.S. Senate control. They can’t afford to lose reliably blue seats in regions like Michigan where they are expected to win Senate seats.

Well not only is Kamala Harris struggling in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, but now even the Republicans who normally underperform Donald Trump in those states are in ties with their Democrat challengers. This is extremely bad for Democrats and is causing Democrat Party officials to sound the alarm and brace for impact.

In a closely watched race for the U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, Democratic candidate Elissa Slotkin and her Republican challenger Mike Rogers are currently tied, according to a recent Quinnipiac poll. Both candidates garnered 48% of support from likely voters, marking a significant shift from earlier polls where Slotkin held a lead. This race is particularly crucial, as a Republican victory could help the party regain control of the Senate.

Chris Gustafson, the communications director for Rogers’ campaign, emphasized the significance of Rogers’ experience, stating, “Mike has dedicated his life to working on behalf of the people of Michigan, while Slotkin simply represents everything wrong with Washington.” He further added that voters are looking for a leader who aligns with their values, pointing out that “Michiganders continue to show Slotkin that she cannot lie or buy her way to the U.S. Senate, and are instead looking for a true leader like Mike Rogers to stop the job-destroying EV mandates and represent our values in the Senate.”

Electric vehicle (EV) mandates have emerged as a focal point in the campaign, with 57% of likely voters expressing opposition to government incentives for EV purchases. This sentiment is particularly strong among Republicans, with 91% opposing such incentives, and a notable portion of independents (58%) also against them. In contrast, the majority of Democratic voters support these measures.

Despite this, Slotkin has attempted to distance herself from the EV mandates, despite her voting record showing consistent support for them. Some of the existing regulations, enforced by agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, require automakers to ramp up production of EVs and zero-emissions vehicles by 2032. Additionally, the Biden administration has invested billions to promote the production and adoption of electric vehicles.

Leading up to Election Day, many polls have shown Rogers trailing in the race, as reported by FiveThirtyEight. Historically, Michigan’s Senate seats have been solidly Democratic for nearly 40 years, with only one Republican, Spencer Abraham, elected to the Senate since 1994.

A flip of the Michigan seat to turn red would be a disaster that would force the Democrats to rethink everything moving forward, especially considering how friendly voters in the Rust Belt have been towards Republicans in recent elections.

One of the most accurate pollsters of 2020, Atlas Intel, has even produced surveys that show Mike Rogers ahead of his opponent Elissa Slotkin to the tune of five points. That may not be the average, but it does show that Rogers has a chance of heading to the U.S. Senate come January inauguration time.

Democrats Are Losing Their Grip On Historical Blue Regions And Voters

There’s no way around the fact that Democrats have overplayed their hand in the region. After Barack Obama’s resounding victories in the Rust Belt in 2008 and 2012, they assumed they could carry the working class for decades into the future. They underestimated just how bad the candidates John McCain and Mitt Romney were.

Since those elections, Donald Trump has been the face of the Republican Party and he’s raised all the ships. No longer can the Democrats just assume that their old “good jobs and no wars” message will ring true for American voters in the region anymore. Not only that, but they aren’t even promoting that old Democrat agenda these days.

Now the modern Democrat Party is unrecognizable to the one of decades past. Rather than focusing on the working class, the Democrat Party spends its time cozying up to billionaires and peddling radical LGBTQ agendas.
