The former Democrat president has done something truly unbelievable. He’s actually assisting Donald Trump.

And Bill Clinton just helped the Trump campaign in a major way and Democrats are shocked.

Former President Bill Clinton’s recent comments attempting to blame former President Donald Trump for the death of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley have sparked controversy and, ironically, fueled Trump’s campaign efforts. The situation took an unexpected turn when Clinton’s words were used as a soundbite by Trump’s campaign, effectively backfiring on Clinton.

Clinton, who has been campaigning in Georgia for Vice President Kamala Harris, aimed to argue that Trump bore responsibility for Riley’s death because he had allegedly influenced Republicans to oppose an immigration bill earlier in the year.

“Trump k*lled the bill. The bill was being written by senior Republicans in the Senate, and he k*lled the bill. Why?” Clinton said during a campaign stop in Fort Valley, Georgia.

Seizing on this opportunity, Trump’s team clipped the other part of Clinton’s comments and shared it on X (formerly known as Twitter). The message quickly gained traction among Trump’s allies and supporters on social media.

Regarding those particular comments in his speech, Clinton referenced the case of Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student k*lled by an undocumented immigrant. Clinton suggested that the tragedy might have been avoided if proper immigration vetting had been in place.

He said, “A young woman who had been k*lled by an immigrant. Yeah, well, if they’d all been properly vetted, that probably wouldn’t have happened.”

Trump’s campaign, which has long prioritized immigration control, jumped on the remark, with their War Room account posting: “He was supposed to be campaigning FOR Kamala. YIKES.” They argued that Clinton’s comment only reinforced their stance on border security.

Clinton’s criticism of Trump extended beyond immigration. He accused Trump of undermining the immigration bill to maintain political division. “There wouldn’t be a problem [if it passed], and he couldn’t keep people all torn up and upset,” Clinton asserted.

While Clinton tried to bolster Harris’ campaign by positioning her as the only candidate who endorsed a bill limiting immigration numbers, his timeline didn’t quite match up with the facts. The suspect in Laken Riley’s m*rder, Jose Antonio Ibarra, crossed the border in September 2022 and was arrested in February of the following year, around the same time the Senate voted on the immigration bill. This made Clinton’s argument less relevant to the specific case, as even a successful bill wouldn’t have changed the outcome for Riley.

The National Republican Congressional Committee quickly seized on Clinton’s remarks. Spokesman Will Reinert criticized Harris and other Democrats for supporting “far-left open-border policies” and suggested that Clinton’s comments indirectly acknowledged their failure.

Reinert noted, “Unfortunately, swing-district House Democrats voted against every reasonable border security bill this Congress that could have saved Laken Riley’s life.”

In addition to his immigration critique, Clinton raised eyebrows by commenting on the need for immigration to offset America’s declining birthrate.

He told a Columbus, Georgia audience, “I don’t think Americans are anti-immigration, they’re anti-chaos. We’ve got the lowest birthrate we’ve had in well over 100 years. We’re not at replacement level, which means we’ve got to have somebody come here if we want to keep growing the economy.”

Clinton joked about artificial intelligence potentially solving the issue but added that “getting up and going to work every day” remains crucial to society. His remarks were further amplified by former Trump adviser Steve Cortes, who shared a clip and accused Democrats of trying to “replace American citizens with migrants.”

As Clinton continues his tour through rural Georgia — a key battleground state — Trump holds a slim lead over Harris in recent polls.

Democrats are hoping to retain Georgia after their surprising victory in the 2020 election, but the impact of Clinton’s controversial remarks may have completely destroyed those chances.
