That’s why Donald Trump decided to drop this stunning pardon news.

Trump Suggests Pardon for Mayor Eric Adams, Cites Political Motivation Behind Corruption Charges

President-elect Donald Trump expressed on Monday that he would “certainly look at” issuing a pardon for New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who is currently facing federal corruption charges. Trump, who made his remarks at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, stated that Adams, a Democrat, had been “treated pretty unfairly.”

Adams, 64, has pleaded not guilty to charges alleging he accepted gifts, including luxury travel, from wealthy foreign businesspeople over nearly a decade. He is also facing conspiracy charges related to potentially illegal campaign contributions tied to his 2021 mayoral campaign. However, Trump downplayed the significance of the charges, suggesting that they involved relatively minor allegations, such as accepting an upgrade on an international flight.

“I think that he was treated pretty unfairly,” Trump said, adding that he had not “seen the gravity of it all” and hadn’t closely reviewed the evidence. He also noted that Adams was being accused of offenses that seemed less serious in nature.

Trump further suggested that there might be a political element to the charges. The mayor’s outspoken criticism of the Biden administration’s handling of the immigration crisis has drawn national attention, with Adams repeatedly speaking out against the lack of federal action on migrant-related issues. “He essentially went against what was happening with the migrants coming in and made some pretty strong statements,” Trump observed.

In an anecdote, Trump recalled saying, “You know what? He’ll be indicted soon,” following Adams’ criticism of the administration. Trump noted that his comment had been made “light heartedly,” but a few months later, Adams faced the federal indictment.

Adams, for his part, has strongly suggested that the charges against him are politically motivated. He has claimed that his vocal opposition to the Biden administration’s immigration policies and his stance on the migrant crisis have made him a target. “I’m not communicating with the president about a pardon,” Adams said as recently as Sunday, but he has made clear that he believes the legal action against him is more about silencing his political views than about actual criminal conduct.

Political commentators have argued that the case reflects a disturbing pattern of using legal mechanisms, sometimes referred to as “lawfare,” to undermine political opponents. This strategy can be especially prevalent when a public figure challenges the status quo or speaks out against the political establishment, regardless of party affiliation. In Adams’ case, many believe that his opposition to the Biden administration’s handling of immigration may have made him a target for prosecution.

As Adams continues to face legal scrutiny, questions remain about whether the charges against him are truly about alleged wrongdoing or whether they are part of a concerted effort to silence dissent within the political system. While the legal process unfolds, Trump’s suggestion of a potential pardon highlights the ongoing political ramifications of Adams’ legal battles.

Pardon Given New Light After Joe Biden Pardon’s His Convicted, Guilty Son

If there was any criticism to be offered about the possibility of Donald Trump pardoning New York City’s Eric Adams, that is out the door now after what President Joe Biden did for his own son by absolving him of any consequences for his felonious actions.

Hunter Biden was found guilty of lying on gun forms and tax forms, and he was found guilty of trying to dodge taxes. He was expected to be sentenced this fall/early next year. Instead, he is going to get away with no consequences for his behavior. All because his father, Joe, is abusing the power of the pen.

This is after months and years of telling the American people that he was not going to pardon Hunter under any circumstances, mind you. So anyone on the Left who wants to criticize Donald Trump for his past pardons and potential ones on the horizon will have to reconsider in the new context that the “law and order” Joe Biden stooped lower than anyone else has previously.
