The Democrats are bracing for Donald Trump’s second term. But some are up to no good.
That’s why President Biden just received a call with an unbelievable order from a Democrat Governor.
Democrats have earned their reputation for being enemies of the U.S. Constitution and the freedoms it offers American citizens. There’s a reason why the vast majority of Americans indicate on surveys that they believe Republicans are, on average, better for defending constitutional rights than Democrats are today. It’s not hard to understand why when Democrats are constantly attacking ideas like free speech and the right to bear arms, both of which are supposed to be protected by the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.
In fact, during Kamala Harris’s campaign for President, her Vice President running mate Tim Walz had the gall to appear on CNN and claim that the U.S. Constitution and its First Amendment does not protect the right to free speech when the speech is “misinformation.” That shocked the nation and even liberal legal experts were quick to criticize Walz for making such an anti-free speech and anti-constitutional comment.
Even though Democrats have just lost the November elections in spectacular fashion, they seem to not be learning their lessons. If anything, they are doubling down on their radical agendas which are at odds with the Constitution and everything America stands for. Consider what a Democrat Governor just asked President Biden to do in response to the ongoing wildfire crisis out in California.
California Governor Gavin Newsom Urges President Biden to “Address” Misinformation Amidst Wildfire Crisis
On Friday, California Governor Gavin Newsom called on President Joe Biden to address what he described as “misinformation” being spread regarding the state’s response to the devastating wildfires affecting Los Angeles. Newsom’s request came during a virtual meeting with the president, as the state grapples with one of its most destructive fire seasons in recent memory.
Newsom alleged that false information about the ongoing crisis has been circulating, particularly concerning his administration’s handling of the wildfires. He emphasized the negative impact this misinformation has on the public and urged the president to intervene in order to prevent further division across the country. According to Newsom, he and Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have had unusual, difficult conversations with the public about these misleading claims.
“I ask you, we’ve got to deal with this misinformation,” Newsom said during the virtual meeting. “The hurricane force, winds filled with mis-and-disinformation lies. People want to divide this country and we’re gonna have to address that as well. And it breaks my heart as people are suffering and struggling, that we’re up against those hurricane forces as well. And that’s just a point of personal privilege that I share that with you because it affects real people who are out there, people I meet every single day. People Bass has been meeting with, and they’re having conversations that are not the typical conversations you’d have at this time and you wonder where this stuff comes from.”
The Governor’s comments come at a time when both he and his administration have faced criticism over their handling of the wildfire crisis, particularly with regard to a lack of accessible water in fire hydrants during the disaster. A recent analysis from OpenTheBooks, a government transparency organization, revealed that Los Angeles had not sufficiently funded fire hydrants across the city, even though officials at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) were receiving significant taxpayer-funded salaries.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Chief Kristin Crowley has come under scrutiny for her strong support of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, as well as her focus on a “racial equity plan” that asserts the agency is stronger because of its focus on the physical characteristics of its personnel. Some have questioned whether these priorities may have detracted from the department’s ability to respond effectively to the fires.
President-elect Donald Trump, who was critical of Newsom’s handling of water management in the past, took aim at the governor for prioritizing the protection of the delta smelt, a small endangered fish, over using water resources to combat the state’s wildfires. Trump contended that during his first term, he secured federal approval for a water management plan that Newsom allegedly refused to implement.
At the same time, as Los Angeles was consumed by flames, Mayor Karen Bass faced backlash for traveling to Ghana to attend the inauguration of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, raising concerns about her absence during a critical time.
The fires have wreaked havoc on the region, with thousands of homes destroyed in neighborhoods such as Eaton Canyon and Pacific Palisades. More than 100,000 people have been forced to evacuate their residences as the fires continue to spread across the area. Some residents directly impacted by the wildfires spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation, revealing that they were given little to no warning before being forced to evacuate, only to return and find their homes reduced to ashes.
An emotional mother, whose daughter’s school had burned down, confronted Governor Newsom during a visit to the affected area on Thursday. She expressed frustration over the lack of readily available water to fight the fires and questioned the governor’s overall response to the disaster. In response, a spokesperson for Newsom stated that the governor spoke with President Biden after his interaction with the woman, and Newsom committed to covering 100% of the response costs for the next 180 days to help alleviate some of the burden on those affected.
