Politics have become incredibly tense in recent years. But now things are being taken to the extreme.

As chaos erupts in the Capitol after these congressmembers trade punches in a heated exchange.

A fiery clash between Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) erupted Tuesday during a House Oversight Committee meeting, culminating in Mace challenging Crockett to “take it outside” after being called a “child.”

The session, intended to approve procedural rules and introduce new committee members, quickly veered off course as tensions escalated. Crockett criticized Mace’s proposed ban on transgender women using female facilities in the U.S. Capitol, alleging it was a ploy to bolster Mace’s campaign.

“I can see that somebody’s campaign coffers really are struggling right now,” Crockett said. “So she’s gonna keep saying trans, trans, trans, so that people will feel threatened.”

Crockett’s remarks took a sharper tone when she added, “And child, listen,” which triggered an immediate and angry response from Mace.

“I am no child! Do not call me a child!” Mace shouted. “I am no child. Don’t even start. I am a grown woman. I am 47 years old.”

As Crockett attempted to continue speaking, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) repeatedly pounded his gavel in an attempt to restore order.

Mace escalated the confrontation further, suggesting they could settle their disagreement outside the chamber.

“You will not do that. I am not a child. If you want to take it outside, we can do that,” Mace yelled.

Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost (D-FL) sought to have Mace’s remarks removed from the record, but Comer declined, interpreting her comment in a less confrontational light.

“What the gentlelady said … that could mean we can go outside and have a cup of coffee, or maybe a beer — we have lots of conversations outside,” Comer argued.

Following the meeting, Crockett addressed the incident on X, formerly Twitter, accusing Mace of issuing a threat.

“Today, I introduced an amendment to reinstate the Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. My Republican colleague threatened to physically fight me about it. Bless her heart,” Crockett posted.

Mace, for her part, remained defiant, tweeting: “I will not be belittled. I will not back down. And I will hold the line. I don’t care how offended Jasmine Crockett is by my words.”

This isn’t Crockett’s first high-profile clash in the House Oversight Committee. During a hearing in May 2024, she famously sparred with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after Greene accused her of wearing “fake eyelashes.” Crockett fired back, ridiculing Greene’s appearance, calling her a “bleach blonde, bad-built, butch body.”
